Over the past few months, I’ve received threats for covering critical global issues, particularly Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the ongoing situation in Syria. Your support is more vital now than ever

🌱 short grass dries out faster, holds less carbon, and makes yards hotter. longer grass actually helps the environment. 🌱 mowing destroys habitats for small animals, bugs, and ground-nesting birds. 🌱 gas-powered mowers = pollution. less mowing = cleaner air.

100

🌱 bees + butterflies need wildflowers, and mowing wipes them out. less food = less pollination = bad for everything. 🌱 cutting grass too often weakens soil, kills native plants, and messes up the ecosystem.

*honeybees are in crisis.* 🐝 colony collapse disorder (ccd) is wiping out hives. 🐝 pesticides, habitat destruction, and disease are killing them off. 🐝 no bees = no pollination = food production + ecosystems at risk.

*monarchs might not come back this year.* 🦋 their population is tanking bc of habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. 🦋 barely any sightings + low overwintering numbers in mexico = bad news. 🦋 no milkweed = no monarchs.

🪲 invasive bugs are killing trees - the hemlock woolly adelgid (from japan) is wiping out hemlock trees in manistee and van buren counties. they die in 4-10 years if untreated. ☁️ climate change is wrecking habitats - rising temps and flooding are changing ecosystems and destroying habitats.

🌊 great lakes are in trouble - budget cuts and staff reductions are messing with drinking water, fish populations, and the environment. invasive species management is at risk too.
