Spiiiiiinnn. I've been building a small flight computer and simulation package for amateur rocketry. You can actually see the g induced gyro wobble in this image (little green circles near the top and bottom). Figure is the end points for the rocket's coord frame during a simulated flight.

I also added a quick view feature that allows me to very easily view the scene without lighting. This means I can get a better idea of what the final image will be without rendering it. Lastly, there is ongoing work to make the scene builder more flexible and able to do things like rotate objects.

I have been busy the last two weeks. I finally managed to fix the bug that prevented the camera from rolling along the direction it is looking. I also added global illumination, so my scenes no longer need to be enclosed spaces. This is currently not "physical" but it doesn't need to be.
Blue cubes floating in the void lit only by global illumination. The light also has a slight blue tint because outside.

Update on the RTEngine. This week I added specular reflections and did some backend work that sadly makes the whole thing slower and nosier. But, this will be needed for planed features down the line. I also reorganized the light transport system to better handle materials.

There are three main goals of this project: 1-Be able to simulate optical effects based purely on physics. (think lenses / glass) 2-Accurately simulate real world digital and film cameras with a focus on outdoor photography. 3-Make the simulation run as fast as possible. Such example images being:
Distant mountains in front of a frozen river in winter.A trail surrounded by golden grass and trees with a cloudless blue sky.Looking up a large hill of grass at a cloudless blue sky.

Hey, here is a little announcement for a project I've been working on in my free time. I am building my own PBRT or Physically Based Raytracing rendering engine! Part of this challenge is to write as much as possible from scratch with as few libraries as possible.
A rendering of a series of different colored cubes with a white light behind them.

I'm finally home for Thanksgiving break! That means I can actually get around to doing some fun things that I've been putting off.
