I am getting so very tired of how every year you change the sounds for the app for Halloween and Christmas, and I have to turn it off from every single computer, only for that preference to not be preserved for the next time you decide to mess with everyone’s sound. Could there please be a setting to permanently disable all sound packs that stay with the account?

Not acknowledging peoples preferences isn’t cute, it’s jerk behavior. Making me go through this rigmarole twice a year isn’t going to change my mind about not wanting my audio settings messed with.

What is with all these AI projects that are trying to glaze my hand-written opensource in a way to try to convince me to try out their AI tools? I swear I get one of these every few days now.

Hi Fluffy,

I'm Ivan, founder of XERJ, an open-source, AI-native search engine: it gives coding agents the exact passage of code or documentation they need instead of letting them guess from memory. On top of it we run a public Corpus Hub: an open index of great code solutions that agents consult before writing their own version, so they repeat what worked instead of repeating mistakes.

We reviewed your "Rewrite the data storage to make it a bit more principled and safe" in fluffy-critter/rss2discord and selected it for the hub. It is a substantial piece of work: 4 files and about 260 lines across rss2discord, in Python.

Once it is in the hub, a developer whose coding agent hits the same kind of problem gets your implementation back as a worked reference, with your name and the repo attached, so the agent builds on code that already works instead of improvising its own version and repeating the mistakes you already solved.

If you don't mind, we will include your work in the public index, under the repo's licence (MIT) and with attribution to you and to fluffy-critter/rss2discord. If you would rather keep it out, one line back is enough and I will leave it out.

And if you use AI coding agents yourself, XERJ is worth a try: it cuts the tokens an agent burns by retrieving the exact passage instead of guessing, from reference coding against real implementations to search across large document sets. Past network layout. Everything tops out at 1Gbps, and everything is Ethernet.

Present network layout. Everything is Ethernet aside from the fiber link between the NOC and the recording studio, the living room PC still tops out at 1Gbps, and the Mac mini and Mac studio top out at 2.5Gbps.

Future network layout. There is one additional switch, the Mac mini and Mac studio now run at their full 10Gbps, and the VR PC runs at its full 2.5Gbps.

Alternate history network layout. Just as with the future layout, the Mac mini and studio top out at 10Gbps, but the VR PC still only gets 1Gbps, and the link between the NOC and the recording studio is still Ethernet.

Correction: There are in fact quite a few airline pilots who are furries. I know a few of them. They're cool people, and the furry fandom and community in general have been extremely unfairly maligned by people outside of it. Some people go to renaissance faires, some people go to Star Trek conventions, some people go to furry conventions. (A lot of people are in all three groups, for that matter.)

It's not a fetish and it's not a mental illness. It's just a fun way to spend one's spare time while also exploring creative, artistic pursuits.

Furries have also done WAY more for society than anyone in the Executive branch right now. The Internet has always been run by furries. So many important tech and medical inventions were created by furries. You would not even begin to believe how much furries have done for you without you knowing it.
