Following up on this, I just received confirmation from support that I am officially removed from the Affiliate program (as stated below, this is by choice and not because I did something LMFAO)

Wake up, Sleepyheads! Apologies for my radio silence, I've had a lot going on again lately that has left very little time for streaming. This has made me think about things regarding monetization. TL;DR: I will likely be leaving the affiliate program on Twitch.

A notepad screenshot that reads: I know people see notepad posts and they think "oh god, this is a graduation post". Fortunately (or unfortunately), I'm not going anywhere! I'm just too lazy to make multiple posts and then posting this cross platform twit <-> bsky.

So, to get right to it: I've been considering leaving the Affiliate program on Twitch and whatever the YouTube program is for monetization. Of course, this doesn't mean Twitch/YT will stop showing ads, because that's just how it is, but I'm hoping (if I understand things correctly) that at least it will just be pre-roll ads and won't disrupt viewing.

Why am I considering this? Tbh it just makes sense. I stream not out of necessity, but for fun whenever I can. Twitch streaming doesn't pay my bills (though it would be awesome if it did lol), my full time IT job is what pays them. I would love to grow to a point where I get supplementary income from Twitch/YT revenue, but being as sporadic with streaming as I am, and as small of a creator as I am, it just doesn't make sense for me in this moment in time to stay monetized, especially when I've literally just made basically $8 (not even paid out) through Twitch monetization in the year+ I've been doing this.

I could get into the more nitty gritty about things but, frankly, it's all personal pieces that I don't particularly feel need to be shared.

At the end of the day, I'm doing this for fun, and it doesn't pay me enough to try and be more firm with my schedule when I stack it against my full-time job, spending time with friends, and taking much needed recharge time. And to make things more fair to everyone that supports me, it doesn't make sense for me to stay enrolled with the Affiliate program at this current time.

Ok that's enough of that LMFAO thanks for the support as always y'all <3
