Actuellement deux comètes présentes dans notre système solaire semblent se tirer la bourre. Leur nom de code : C/2025 K1 ATLAS (à gauche) et C/2025 R2 SWAN (à droite). En réalité leurs trajectoires respectives sont très différentes. Reunion Island - 20 septembre 2025.

Il pleut mais ça empêche pas de faire de l'astro. On teste les nouvelles caméras, le diviseur optique et le flat panel maison.

Un peu de retard car j'attendais de lire l'article (arxiv.org/abs/2507.15749) et pas seulement le communiqué (noirlab.edu/public/news/...). A gauche, l'image du communiqué, à droite l'article. Ce compagnon de #Betelgeuse est "détecté" marginalement à 1.5 sigma. C'est faible. (1/7)

On voit la supergeante rouge au centre (un disque orange déformé vers le compagnon) et le compagnon à côté (en bleu, à 1-2 rayons stellaire, au sud-est).

Voici maintenant l'image issue de l'article scientifique (https://arxiv.org/abs/2507.15749).

Plus à voir. La supergeante rouge est au centre en vert-rouge, sans déformation vers le compagnon. Le compagnon est indiqué par une flèche jaune au sud-est, mais c'est une tâche floue faible, qui est aussi présente de l'autre côté de l'étoile.
