Had a very nice random-assembled group-session yesterday that really brought back the old vibes in #WorldOfWarcraftForever Beta. Everyone stayed in the group until everyone had all items for the quest at hand and regardless of many a death against 2-3 level higher elite mobs all were cool with it 👍

Phew, the hype is real, I have never seen this many players in any WoW beta before. Questing is quite the challenge because the respawn rate of mobs is insane and I end up in the middle of it all the time, aggroeing 2-3 mobs simultaneously.... #WoWForeverBeta

Found a solution for the Mac-Client crash and was able to play for an hour. Sometimes there is epic lag and the game actually crashes because of it, but ok, it's a beta and that's okay. What was really nice is the fact that things are going so slow and at times you get into a dangerous situation.

So, looks like Blizzard decided that NA-servers are enough for the whole world. Well, not if your ping is actual 4 seconds from the EU and the game isn't playable at all. On top you get dc'd because of the high ping. Mac clients don't even work proper. They crash before players enter the world.

Meanwhile at the attempt of entering the world the game client crashed. #WoWForeverBeta

In other news Cassi is unusually successful with catching mice recently. She brings it in, puts it down and the mouse runs away. Then she chases it until she loses interest. Then Luna takes over. She is relentless all through the night.

It took a while but I actually managed to make a char on the WoW Forever Beta. Now trying to enter the world. It all takes a little longer than usual 🫠

Blizzard is giving us the true Wow beta experience one more time with Forever... Ah, well, tomorrow it is, I guess.

I don't really need sauna but I can like the fact that there is a world championship in sauna infusion making or how it is actually called in English. This is much more useful for a good life than AI, Nazis, Maga, Russians, Chinese combined. Fans of all that shit should go to the sauna more often!

Update on my A320 home cockpit build. A few months ago I stumbled over a rather interesting project where the designer set himself the goal to create a full A320 cockpit for home use and it had to be fully 3D printed only. I was intrigued and waited for news but they didn't come for a long time.

That puppet-episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds is really giving me a hard time. We are now halfway through the season and there was hardly an episode I was able to enjoy and this episode isn't making things better. We seem to now be in "what else could we do with the show that isn't Trek"-land.

Holy smokes, just finished season 1 of The Handmaid's Tale and boy this one is outright fucking disturbing. And even more so due to the simple fact that we all know that something similar to this has always been happening and still *is* happening.

If narcicism is good for anything then it is the bitter sweet music it gives birth to. Like this one here. But aside from that carcicism of course is the most useless thing that exists in the whole universe and everyone who fell into that pit better become hermits. youtu.be/c1GxjzHm5us?...

Long time followers heard me ranting about music streaming services many many times - but not this time! Because I finally broke free of Apple Music. It was a long journey though. The main problem was that I had problems finding a proper way to play my music collection on a device.

In other news Pippa still grows and gets stronger and stronger. I hope she won't get much larger because it's getting really difficult at times to control her. At least she is house-trained and she has learned to sit by command. I heard the licking will stop when she gets older. I hope that's true

Speaking of unexpected cost of having a dog: - new (higher) fence necessary - new catflap - going to a dog-friendly restaurant after every 2nd to 3rd evening walk - Dry hands because you have to wash them every five minutes after the dog licked them once again - buying three dog beds

Lady A bought a cool new dog lead that would roll out and back in automagically. Sadly the lead itself was not made of cryptonite so Pippa chewed through it and we're back to the old leads. Another victim to Pippas fervour were lady A's leather sandals today. The unexpected cost of having a dog...

In other news Pippa is with us now for three weeks. She gained a full Kilogramm (2 pounds) in that time, got 5 centimeters (2 inches) longer, got much stronger. Keeps getting bolder and really loves to just run, run and run.

Sometimes the way things turn out is very unexpected and sometimes it is also just absolutely cool. It's now ok to share this story. As you may or may not know I'm a member of an RC modelplane club in the vicinity of Berlin. We also happen to have a few members working in the aerospace industry.

Lady A booked a dog-training session last weekend and now she actually sits down when lady A tells her to. All in all Pippa more and more learns to remain calm when lady A leaves her for a short while and she waits patiently (she simply starts sleeping or dozing) when we eat at the table. Good girl!

Luckily our cats are so deeply connected to us and our home that they both don't feel being pushed away but keep coming home and go out again through the cat flap that is located in the living room where Pippa stays in the first few months. Luna manages to be much stealthier with it than Cassi.

Floradine Strongfoot @floradine-s.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

She's now with us for over two weeks and we saw her blossoming up even further. She is getting relaxter, getting stronger, becoming more confident. And if you are not quick enough she grabs herself a healthy dose of horse dung. So we learn to mind our path and steer her away from such things...

Floradine Strongfoot @floradine-s.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Pippa testing her new bed that is placed under the table in the living room so she can be close to us without lying on the couch. Looks like the bed works well.

The next furry beast was already waiting for me to return so she could drag me to her version of a walk. Which is like walk three meters and sniff here and there and over there and then sit down and eat some more grass.

040

Floradine Strongfoot @floradine-s.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Lady A's big dream was to go for walks with her dog to get a bit more fit over time. So we started to bring Pippa outside into the fields yesterday already and today we had the time to go for another walk. Here she is, sniffing ALL THE THINGS. She is super happy and we get our training done.

060

Floradine Strongfoot @floradine-s.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

At least Cassi and Pippa met on the street and it wasn't a disaster. Cassi raised her back but that was all while Pippa was trying (as good dogs do) to establish contact. For today it was just a try, one day she will succeed. At least that's the hope, here.

Meanwhile I' trying hard to not lose the cats to their fright of "That dog thing that lives where we once lived, you traitors!".

Working at home and I hear Pippa barking joyfully in the garden. After her very stressfull trip to us she finally begins to relax and become her true self again. That is a very good thing 🥰 Also she steals all the cat toys from a basket and claims them for herself by hoarding them in her bed.

So, Niall Harbison, creator of @happydoggo.com showed by excellent example how the world can be made a better place for dogs and my Lady A took his lead and followed it! Everyone, welcome Pippa with us, our new rescued pup from Romania who arrived earlier today at her new forever home.

Current status of Pippa's bed as if now... Pippa is the dog we will give a new forever home on Saturday. Now I need to find a way to bring Cassi to give up that bed for Pippa. Maybe we should buy her such a bed for herself. And then Luna may also want such a comfortable bed...

The profession of Politician is far too easy and attractive. To change this we should introduce a yearly audit of every politicians promises to the public and the things they actually achieved. If both don't match they should be introduced to Daenerys Targarien and her Dragons.

After listening to almost all pieces by SolarVoid I went on a search for other filk in the 40k realm and found a lot of stuff. I noticed that they all sound same and the male lead voice was incredibly similar in all of them. So... is all that AI slop? Or is this just one really frantic guy?
