Carroll and Labor’s abortion reforms are quite clever. With Wilson and the Libs matching them a wedge is created between conservative and moderate Lib voters, while ON positions itself along more traditional conservative values, thereby potentially drawing conservative Lib voters across. #auspol

Well done Angus, good job. Plenty of repetition, light on detail and utterly confusing - about as coherent and convincing as your argument on screening the ‘right people who share our values’. Enjoy the middle; complete irrelevance. Hartcher’s defence a disgrace too. #auspol #insiders

In budget/economic discussions, it doesn’t seem to occur to the majority of the media to inform the public that increased govt. spending is an increase in public services. The corollary to this of course it that a cut to govt. spending is a cut to public services. #auspol #insiders

Conservative = conservation 🥴 Jane Hume mustn’t have any connection between her mouth and her ears. Her comprehension and critical thinking is almost non-existent. #auspol #insiders

Splitting Court of Appeal in two and politicising the appointment of judges is really only playing around the edges, regardless of the 'merits' of the idea. Small target politics is well and truly alive within the Vic Libs. Jury is out on whether it aligns with the electorate. #auspol #vicpol

'Declared war' 🙄 I'm not sure who the 'everyday Australians' are that she's referring to either, but it's more of the same scaremongering and over-reaction from Australia's biggest hostile media actor, NewsCorpse.

All this hypothetical speculation, but has anyone asked what good a preference deal is to either if neither of them are likely to win in the many metropolitan seats across Australia's capital cities? #auspol

Jane Hume on Insiders: - Albanese should be more curious about the Victorian ALP - the Reformers scandal is a NSW Liberal Party issue; it's nothing for the Federal Liberal party to be curious about Astounding that she has been a Senator for 10 years. #auspol #insiders

Another example of poor scheduling from the AFL. With a Thursday night game, a Friday double header only leaves 2 games for Sunday. The second game tonight commences at 8.10pm on the East Coast. This isn't only inconvenient for fans on the East Coast, but those attending in Perth.

His resumé in the men's game is hardly anything to hang your hat on. His stint at Richmond as an assistant was between 2000-04. 9th, 4th, 13th, 16th. In his time at North he coached 15 games as caretaker, with a 40% winning record, in seasons where they finished 13th, made a prelim and then 8th.

So, the care economy has 'exploded' and a heavily unionised workforce receiving 'hefty' pay increases deserve them, but only if the economy is 'strong' 🙄 Does Taylor realise that 'smaller government' and trickle down economics has been rejected, particularly by those on min. wage #auspol

Large portions of the media have become promoters or wishful thinkers, happy to promote, hypothesise, persuade or influence readers rather than reporting facts and offering reasonable critical analysis. The electorate seems to have twigged however; Nov '26 will be another test. #auspol

Coorey standing up and fighting for those poor, oppressed self-managed super funds and investors in general. Colour me shocked. And how dare a party elected with a thumping majority have the gumption to do a deal in the Senate to pass legislation and get on with things. #auspol #insiders

Hanson's appearance at the NFP yesterday should,if nothing else, be notable for one thing: she lacks any of the charisma or magnetism of Trump. With compulsory voting in Australia, cracks and fissures within her own party and policies will be glwringly obvious and ultimately damaging. #auspol

Catching up on yesterday's news, including Insiders. How Jennifer Hewett can state that the current conflict in the Middle East is not a white hot issue in America while keeping a straight face is either brilliant acting, or vacuous stupidity. Either way, it's entirely unbelievable. #auspol

The campaign against Labor's tax changes has all the hallmarks of the campaign against the mining tax under Gillard. Wealth is being redistributed and those affected are doing their best to prevent it, to the detriment of everyone else. #auspol

The Greens are in a constant battle to be relevant and routinely resort to 'perfect', all so they can differentiate themselves from Labor. The Coalition haven't learnt anything from the Stage 3 tax cuts episode, nor recognised that their base is dwindling, either dying or being consumed by ON.

Coorey is like a child's toy with a string, where if you pull it, you'll hear the same lines spoken ad nauseum. Hewett is like some sort of decaying corpse mannequin, stiffer than super glue, her owner consisting of a greasy Liberal hand shoved up her back whose job it is to reanimate her.

Labor SA complaining about GST allocations to WA is as rich as it gets. Koutsantonis should savour the election victory and the near-extinction of the Liberal Party in SA, not seek to employ the politics of envy and create convenient excuses which he may seek to deploy in future. #auspol

They live in an ideological dream, where their party/candidate of choice would govern in place of Albanese; yet the reality is that the party they're more ideologically opposed to would most likely win office.

It's as if Ley holds the belief that greater repression and surveillance will prevent every terrorist attack, lone wolf or otherwise, and that the PM is solely responsible for policing such measures. Or more worryingly, that antisemitisn isn't something that has existed for millennia #auspol
