1) A room with a vintage linoleum floor with a terrible wood grain op art vaguely psychedelic pattern. This is what was uncovered when the moldy carpet came up.

2. The same room with the floor painted white with primer. A black cat is sitting on the floor and looking at himself ina mirror. The original linoleum can be seen on the closet floor.

We went to the beach anyway and had sandwiches and sandy cake and looked at the beautiful clear jellyfish. I think it was a good birthday and now, as she says, she will be four for weeks and weeks. 52, said her mom, to be exact. 😆

Four years today! Grandmothering is not a journey I really ever thought I would be undertaking, much less the hands on live in kind. But it turns out to be worth it.

This is a photograph taken at night of some people celebrating the fourth of july with small fireworks on the street. The firework is making a bright white light and a figure is silhouetted in it, looking as if they are dancing. The firework is also shooting off lines of light and explosive sparks. The people are all blurred; the only clear image is the firework. There are two people to the right looking on and one to the left drinking what looks like a can of beer. There are a couple of lit windows in the background. The scene is eerie and moody.

An American bald eagle is sitting on a piece of driftwood that is jutting up from the dunes, which look like light green hills due to the beach grass. The eagle is looking directly at the camera. There is a feather jutting up from it's back and it looks as if it might be hurt in some way. However the photographer did see it fly from one perch to another, so it's not terribly hurt. Still, it is in disarray. Which is also a metaphor because 2025.

This is two photos on one frame of 35 mm film. The photo on the left is of a tall bridge arcing over a very wide river with a fishing boat going under it in the distance. The one on the right is half a curious concrete structure and some pilings. In both of the photos the colors are very muted and dreamy , as if it is early in the morning. The light is hazy and clouds are visible over the hills across the river. These were taken in Astoria Oregon about a month ago with a 1960s Russian camera called a Chaika II and some 200 ISO Kodak color film.
