It's 3 AM on moving day and I've already been up for 2 hours and packed the last minute things. Nothing to do now but wait for it to be time to fetch the moving truck and get loading!

Today is the final packing day. I've disassembled my bed. I'll just sleep on the mattress on the floor, tonight. Once it is light out, I will clean Flirty's paddock and prep our car. Then there are a few other bits to finish. This is really happening, y'all.

Look at this beautiful gift my farrier made for me! She is a talented painted and metalwork artist, in addition to her farrier work. She custom made this shoe and painted Flirty in amazing detail!!!!

A costume made horse shoe with a black canvas in the center. A bust of Flirty’s has been painted on with acrylics paints. You can even see her eyelashes.

Printed off Flirty's travel paperwork. Left the local FB groups. Shit is getting real, folks. 3 days until moving day!

Flirty had pre-travel vet inspection and we said goodbye to Dr. Conover, today. She’s had taken such good care of Flirty over the years. We will miss her.

A woman in jeans and a scrub top with her hair pulled back kneels beside Flirty, smiling. Flirty, a grey mini horse is standing quietly, wearing her black halter.

We made it! $800/800 raised to pay for the moving truck rental!!! Y’all are so amazing and I appreciate you so very much. Especially you with that last donation, I know things are very tight for you. *side eyes a follower*

Thanks to a very generous donation, we are *almost* there! $790/800! Can anyone help with the last few dollars to pay for the rental of the moving truck? www.taplink.cc/flirtythesh

Flirty's final visit with her vet here in Omaha is in a few hours. She needs her health inspection before we head to Michigan and our new home. I will be sad, my horses have been treated by this clinic for nearly 20 years. Dr. Conover has been Flirty's primary since I got her.

Flirty The Service Mini Horse @flirtythesh.bsky.social · 25/09/2025

Good news! I found a discount for the moving truck that bring the rental cost to $900! That means we only need $85 to reach the goal! I know we can do it. I'll be paying the taxes and insurance, myself, this is just to cover the rental itself. In a week, I will waking up in my new home.

My anxiety drove me to get everything packed nearly a week ahead of time. My anxiety failed to consider that having nothing left to do until moving day will make things works. I work up at 12 AM, today. Hopefully I can go back to bed after a snack and a drive.../

Flirty The Service Mini Horse @flirtythesh.bsky.social · 24/09/2025

I am CRUSHING this move. Everything but a few last minute things have been packed and a few clothes that are still in the wash. I have carried nearly all the boxes out to the garage except the ones still in progress, so it will be easy on loading morning.

It amuses me that I have not received one single cleaning thing off my wish list. Everyone wants to get me cooler stuff. (This is not a complaint, just an observation. I appreciate each and every thing I have been gifted. I'll fill in whatever gaps are needed once I arrive)

Books given away. Between that and the CD collection. I am around 30 boxes lighter. Granted, the CDs were in double-shoe box sized storage containers. But still. This lightens the load considerably.
