Been going back and rewriting so much of the first multiplayer code I ever did last year, and while I've been super frustrated going "What was 2025 me even thinking?" it also makes me happy to see how much I've improved as a coder in just a year. I've also gotten WAY better at designing menus.

I am SO exhausted and relieved right now so I'm just going to repost this from the discord! Thank you everyone, It's been a wild ride to get to where I am right now, but I'm glad I got here.

WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!!
I cant thank everyone enough for all the support, it means more than you can imagine. I cant wait to show you all of the things I have in store for Flipside, and all the ideas I have for what comes after Brave Beginnings. I'll be streaming tomorrow to celebrate and counting down the last hours of the campaign, and after I will be taking roughly a week off from coding to focus on all the real life errands that have piled up on me while I focused on the kickstarter. After that, I will be focused basically entirely on gamedev (still streaming occasionally) for the next 6 months until Brave Beginnings is released.

I will be giving regular updates both in this server and on the Kickstarter page throughout, and making promotional posts when new characters are ready to show off. Backers who pledged to the Early Access tier can expect their codes for the multiplayer Steam playtest in October after I get the multiplayer code cleaned up and matchmaking/lobby finding systems created.

Thank you all again for the incredible support, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Hey everyone! Giving a quick campaign update here and some info about the upcoming demo update! Currently we have roughly a week left until the end of the campaign, and we're just under $2600 short of our goal. Backers pledged about another 13% during the middle 15 days of the campaign, which I'm happy with considering the middle of all of the KS campaigns I've watched in the past has historically been drastically slower than the start and end. This leaves us with 37% left to raise in the last week.

To help us reach that goal, I have a lot planned this week, both in terms of promotion AND a new update to Flipside! Within the next few days I'll be releasing an update to the demo on itchio that will add 2 new shops to the game world: A duel accessory shop, and a clothing shop! These will only have a single type of cosmetic each at the moment since this is only their very first implementation, and there's still a lot of work to do to finish the rest, but it gives the player a small taste of the cosmetic choices that will be available in Brave Beginnings. And to be extra clear, these shops only use credits, the in-game currency, just like a typical RPG. There will be zero micro transactions in Brave Beginnings, and I have no plans to add them in any future chapters.

I'm glad you like it! Yeah the first 2 duels especially are made to be super easy while you learn the rules (those first bots are limited to playing 1-2 cards per turn) but I included some harder NPCs you can find in the city to test your skills.

Acceleraptor is still one my favorite cards I've designed. It was also the first time I really locked in and put some effort into the card art, even if I'm still not the best at it (I want to re-draw him later). His effect will need some re-wording before release though.

Been a while since the last update as I'm in the middle of completely replacing the current placeholder intro of the story with a brand new series of cutscenes and interactive tutorials that introduce you to the story and it's characters. It's a huge task but I'm very close to having it done.
