Die Linke have a lot of good election material, but personally I find it hard to beat “For Neukölln. For migration. For Palestine.” as a political summary 🖤

nice work lads of 1935
screenshot of newspaper: "MEN'S EXPLANATIONS ACCEPTED
In Hotel on Sunday
Justices in the Glenelg Court today accepted the reasons given by four men for having been at the Family Hotel on a Sunday night.
One said he was there to give the manager a shave and haircut, another
claimed he went to see about a job, and the others explained that they were concerned with an order for ice.
Charges of having been unlawfully on the premises of the Family Hotel,
Gleneig, during prohibited hours on August 18 against George Herbert
Rule, brickmaker; William Anthoney Finnington, laborer; Frank Ernest Gar
diner, stablehand; and Stanley Brown, hairdresser, all of Gleneig, were dismissed.
Mr. Eric Millhouse appeared for Browm and Rule. The Assistant
Police Prosecutor (Mr. Bond) prosecuted.

The only photo I took on NYE was of this incredible weapons-handling of a Berlin cop. (One of 12 cops surrounding one man arrested on the platform at Kotti)

Do you think if Palestinians had techno festivals, Germans would recognise them as human?

Big fan of this guy, at least from the medical report in his deportation file. (he was deported from australia back to britain in 1931)
He has never done any real “job of work” either in England or in the various States of Australia. He has tried clerking, soldiering and farming, all to no purpose. His mother died in an asylum in England. He is subject to delusions and is very unstable. He says people are watching him and making ambiguous signs about his. He has a vague idea that he might be Christ and that his mission is to save the oppressed and the unemployed. When there is a storm he interprets it as a message from God. He has certain homosexual tendancies. His general conduct is fairly good. He is never violent or dangerous and he can converse for a long time without disclosing any of these delusions, etc. At the same time they (his delusions) prevent him from doing any work – they make him an undesirable citizen, one likely to mix with “down and outs” and foster discontent and communistic ideas (such as he has) and render him likely to be a more or less permanent charge on the State."

Moby Dick giving an epigraph for microhistory
"Is it not curious, that so vast a being as the whale should see the world through so small an eye, and hear the thunder through an ear which is smaller than a hare’s? But if his eyes were broad as the lens of Herschel’s great telescope; and his ears capacious as the porches of cathedrals; would that make him any longer of sight, or sharper of hearing? Not at all.—Why then do you try to “enlarge” your mind? Subtilize it."
