1. Lalin’s Curse by isakytm The best Webtoon ever is an incomplete, 1 season, 45 episode read? Yes. This is the one. This is as good as it gets. The art, the characters, the story, the love and care put into it. I sincerely doubt I will find anything better.

2. Nomads by @captain-juuter.bsky.social I was obsessed with this when I first read it. It’s pretty much perfection. Each character is developed with such care and the world-building is insane. Far too under-appreciated.

4. The Last Dimension by @leaglem.bsky.social Probably the best lore you’ll find in any Webtoon. You can tell the creator put a lot of care into it. There are 5 characters from this represented in my banner. That’s how you know how much I loved it.

5. Jackson’s Diary by Paola Batalla Sure, it’s a typical high school drama, but the introduction of fantasy elements makes it infinitely more interesting. The constant conflicts have been heavily debated, but a good drama needs tension.

6. Castle Swimmer by @wendylianmartin.bsky.social A love story but also a story of having to fulfill a role that was chosen for you. One of the greatest segments includes a very realistic, major panic attack that helped me feel seen. Consistent LGBTQ+ representation.

7. Spontaneous World Shifting by @sushiru-river.bsky.social The concept of this one is so unique. A constantly changing story. The tones change many times but it is never dull. The introduction of Malik’s character is a highlight.

8. BlackSun by Play and Miin This one is kind of controversial, and I’m not really sure why. The story is extremely gripping and the art is fantastic. An Anime-adjacent adventure mixed with Western influences.

9. Jupiter-Men by ActionKiddy An amazing Webtoon that was treated terribly by the Webtoon company (a recurring theme with many Webtoons). Just a good, fun superhero story with great characters and amazing twists.

10. Hazeshift by @leikoi.bsky.social An apocalyptic love story that pushes boundaries by including a very interesting disabled character. I love the dynamic between the characters, the tone, and the art style.

HM2. Dead But Not Gone by R. Schaeffer and Mioko_san I absolutely LOVED this one… I did anyways. For some reason, I feel like the tone and characterization shifted in the second half of Season 1 and there were decisions made with the story that I didn’t enjoy, mostly with Cam.

HM1. Lumine by @kaburion.bsky.social My first Webtoon, so it holds a special place in my heart. The story was very good but the fall off in the finale was what knocks it off the list. I understand that the creator lost interest, so I won’t fault it for that. I cannot WAIT for the animated version.

An average person is not supplying AI military weapons to totalitarian regimes. This is an issue with a company’s use. I’m not disputing that. Someone choosing to use it for their own work affects no one.

Environmental impacts are bad but one person’s work won’t affect it more than a mass corporation. The stealing was training data. The program learns visual patterns from submitted work and produces images based on the familiar patterns. The copyright infringement lies within the trainers.
