Former Health Minister Preet Kaur Gill spent 18 years working in social care and safeguarding. Echoing the Prime Minister, she says we must sort out end-of-life care before considering assisted dying. She says MPs would be right to vote against the Bill on Friday. labourlist.org/2026/09/mps-...

As we weigh up the evidence it surely leads us to believe that the answer to the “assisted dying” question, is, at the very least, “not now”.

Absolutely infuriating that one of my colleagues has decided that what Parliament should focus on in the coming months - given everything going on in the world and here at home - is bringing back the assisted dying bill. Head in hands.

Interesting polling about the real priorities people have, versus what pressure groups are claiming wrt Assisted Dying. A PMB for access to palliative &end of life care wld be a better starting point @laurenedwardsmp.bsky.social www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06...

Given @laurenedwardsmp.bsky.social left Twitter over the use of an ableist slur, it would be a really bad look for her to bring back an assisted suicide Bill universally opposed by disability & learning disability groups, who’d be put at grave risk by the Bill.

Backers of the Leadbeater assisted dying Bill want @laurenedwardsmp.bsky.social to take this Bill under her name, and push it through into law. That's why local residents in Rochester & Strood turned out this morning to share their opposition

If I were Leadbeater or Falconer listening today to the Assisted Dying Bill debate in the Lords, I'd be worried

It takes 7 months for a child with cancer to receive disability benefits, and it can take years to get a wheelchair. But the NHS will be able to administer a lethal poison to terminally-ill patients in weeks, if Kim Leadbeater's Assisted Suicide Bill is approved. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
