student's essay header reads the name of the class, date, and name of professor, with "Queen" added beside the professor's name.

Recommendation from Frankie at youtu.be/LK8NMhTi6OY?... Funny and thoughtful; reads so true to Slack, too... #📚💙
Cover of "Several People Are Typing" and it's really hard to describe... multiple windows of various transparencies layered over each other; the first has the title, the second has stick figure man draped awkwardly over his desk., the third looks like a circuitboard?

trying a new way of marking favorite lines; washi tape dots folded over the edges of pages. centered the first one but then realized I should leave the larger side of the dot on the page I'm actually marking or I'll just confuse it with the page on the opposite side of the sheet... #annotation #📚💙
a marked page in "Several People Are Typing" by Calvin Kasulke; half of a washi tape dot visible folded over the edge of the page.pages of the book with dark line where washi dot is present

#booksky #📚💙 If you need more motivation to buy used books instead of ordering new copies from Amazon, sometimes you discover things like:
Title page of "Normal People" by Sally Rooney. Handwritten note reads "Purchased in Edinburgh, Scotland on the Scotland/Ireland trip with Mom. May 23, 2019 (at Waterstones on Waterloo Place."

Just finished last night: 4.25⭐ First half felt like I was reading David Copperfield... and "Pippa"? and Christmas in the ending? Am I imagining Dickens here and there? Loved Tartt's writing style but could use a trim here and there, esp. at the end. Still a good read! #booksky #📚💙
Cover of "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. The title and author are written in what looks to me like a grease pencil but what do I know. Paper wrapping is torn to reveal the painting and the titular bird in the titular painting peeks through.

Today's the sixth day behind water; at least two more before the water recedes enough that we can get to the end of our road and back out into the world. Trying to get work done in the meantime!
Coffee table with Tartt's "The Goldfinch," coffee mug, bag and screen playing a vlog video of a person making coffee or tea.

Tumblr post by dagny-hashtagart reads, "Today in phrases I expect to retain: 'rotten architecture but wonderful gargoyles' (George Orwell criticizing Dickens' overarching plots while praising his scene-by-scene writing and eye for detail)".

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know. Black and white, too, because I figured I might as well.
Spinning vinyl record, Tom Waits' Heartattack and Vine. Black and white.

I'm picking up on a pattern: me listening to Michael Hobbes and Peter Shamshiri wherever they are.

I figure a good starting point is a book recommendation. Just finished this one and it's SO good.
