GIMP 2, poster for University of Skövde game jam. Was given free hands to develop a retro fantasy theme, and so decided to revisit the setting of my first "original" fantasy fiction from 1998, and the vibe of an artist without whom it wouldn't have been. Dedicated to the memory of Keith Parkinson.

Digital painting of a snowy fantasy landscape, with icy mountains and snow-covered forests in the distance, and a Spring-like warm atmosphere on a hill in the foregound. Far in the distance seven glowing white towers reach far above the horizon, dwarfing the mountains beneath.

Five characters stand on the hill. A diminutive elfin woman riding a Samoyed; a dark-skinned human wielding a futuristic sword and a staff, with a golden grail hanging from his belt; a tall elf with a lute slung over her shoulder; an anthropomorphic exotic cat licking his paw; and a stone-skinned man in a red robe carrying an unrealistically massive sword. The elf and cat are sipping from orange jam jars, possibly filled from an unnaturally massive jam jar stood on a peak in their midst. The scene is reminiscent of 1990's fantasy paintings.
