A couple months prior to 9/11 a pair of artists installed a "balcony" in the WTC after removing a window. The NYT covered it in the metro section right next to a piece about Giuliani saying the school funding cuts weren't deep enough. Motherfucker was NEVER America's mayor.

Saw a mediocre film at the IFC after seeing John Wilson outside. The theater had major sound problems and had to restart the movie a few times. Paul Schrader, sitting near us, lost his shit and stormed out cursing FUCK THE IFC AND FUCK YOU. Highlight of my NY trip.

Sixty years ago Lucille Ball allowed a second pilot to be shot for a show described as "Wagon Train to the Stars" and Star Trek premiered on NBC. Three years later, after bleeding it dry, NBC killed it. It refused to die and became my reason for living every weeknight at 6pm when I was a kid.
