Here today we have Bodysnatch Pirates from my C-PTSD album. flakebelly.bandcamp.com/album/c-ptsd This song was made in one day, from start to finish. I have no idea what style of music it is. Who cares? I like the songs that tumble out like this, fully formed. #music #indie #hiphop #electronic

14 days free if you fancy a go. Load it up, put your email in on the activation screen, and a six-digit code comes back to start the trial. No card needed.

Clean, Warm, Hot or Valve on the way in. Summing, bus EQ, bus compression and saturation in the middle. Five console colours on the way out. Every rack mints its own serial and that sets its character, so mine isn't yours.

Greetings friends! This one's fBox Rack. A plugin host, but with a preamp, mix bus and console stage built round the slots, so empty it's a complete analogue channel strip. fboxaudio.com/plugins/rack #MusicProduction #HomeStudio #Mixing

So fDelay is eight machines instead of eight presets. Tape that thickens every pass. A bucket-brigade chain that drops a bit more at each hand-off. An oil can that drifts and never repeats the same way twice. 14 days free if you fancy a go. Email in, six-digit code back, that's it. #vst3 #delay

011

flakebelly @flakebelly.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I built a delay, which is a daft thing to do in 2026. Everyone's got twelve. But most of them repeat your sound and turn it down. The gear I own doesn't do that: every repeat goes back through the machine and comes back darker, grittier, slightly out of tune. fboxaudio.com/plugins/delay #plugin

Greetings friends! Sound on. This is fDrone, a drone synth, signal mangler and ring modulator I built, making an evolving drone sound from nothing. Every one you open has its own serial number, so each is a different machine. Free for 14 days, no card. fboxaudio.com/plugins/drone #plugin #drone

Of What's Been Lost from C-PTSD. A relatively simple tune compared to the rest. I thought I'd push the vocals pretty loud on this one, just for the crack. I have no idea why I'm singing like that; it just kind of happened. flakebelly.bandcamp.com/album/c-ptsd #music #indie #electronic

When did you last check your mix in mono? It's the easiest check to forget, so I put it in a meter. fMeter tells you in one word if your mix HOLDS UP, THINS OUT or COLLAPSES. Free forever. Windows only for now. fboxaudio.com/downloads.html#fmeter #monocheck #selfproduced

Four screenshots of the fMeter metering plugin on a dark background. At the top, two warm, backlit VU meters with needles for the left and right channels. Below, the fMeter Offline app showing a song's peak waveform, phase and stereo image, with its mono check reading "Holds up". Beside it, the plugin's Levels page with green peak meters and a phase scope, and its Loudness page with a loudness history graph. Text reads: fMeter. Free, and always will be. Windows VST3, fboxaudio.com.

Weekend plans? Make some noise with gear you haven't paid for. I built fBox, a virtual analogue studio: a console, a rack and nine plugins, and every instance has its own sound. Full 14-day trials, no card, nothing to cancel. Windows VST3: fboxaudio.com/downloads.html

051

flakebelly @flakebelly.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

There is a second program in there too, for measuring finished files rather than a live signal. Drop a whole album in and read the loudness column top to bottom. It also sums to mono and tells you what disappears when it does. Holds up, thins out, or collapses.

flakebelly @flakebelly.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

I made a free audio metering plugin. fMeter is free. No licence, no key, no trial, no machine limit, and it does not expire. VU and PPM needles, sample peak, true peak, a phase scope and a loudness chart. Windows VST3. Made by me @fboxaudio.bsky.social fboxaudio.com/downloads #music #audio

flakebelly @flakebelly.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

The idea behind it: every instance you open is minted with its own serial number and its own character. Set two compressors identically and one grabs a snare faster while the other lets the transient breathe. 14-day free trials on everything. The metering suite is free permanently.

flakebelly @flakebelly.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

This is what I have been doing instead of releasing music. fBox. Twelve VST3 plugins for Windows. Nine processors, a 32-channel mixing console, a modular rack and a metering suite. It is finally out. fboxaudio.com @fboxaudio.bsky.social #music #audio #plugins

fDrone takes a clean, smooth drone and mangles it into a glitchy, untamed beast - running as a channel insert on the fBox Console, pushed through the tape machine for analogue-modelled grit. Turn a static tone into something alive. Made by @flakebelly.bsky.social - coming soon.
