According to local legend, Givins Castle in Chicago was built from bricks shipped over from a dismantled castle in Ireland. People have claimed they've interacted with a young woman who speaks with an Irish brogue and walks up the hill toward the front door before promptly vanishing. #SpookySunday
A picture of a castle in the autumn with bare trees and orange leaves on the ground. The Givins Castle in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago was built by Robert C. Givins between 1886 and 1887. It is a three story Irish medieval style castle built from limestone. Numerous ghost stories are associated with the building, including the ghost of a young lady thought to be Robert Givins's Irish fiancée, who died before she could move to America. Voices can be heard in empty corridors and lights can be seen moving around in the upper windows when no one is inside the building. The castle currently serves as the home of the Beverly Unitarian Church.
