Printed the SPI visor buck out of ABS. I beefed up the print itself, and after two failed prints where the buck lifted from the bed (likely due to cooling), I tweaked the print settings and a day later had a solid result. #halo #cosplay #3dprint @galacticarmory.net

To go along with the NCR Ranger helmet & backpack, also working on the anti-material rifle from @galacticarmory.net . Using 1/4" aluminum rod for the main body, 1/2" aluminum pipe for the barrel to reinforce it. It's not quite Red Hood rifle big, but it's still a big gun nonetheless. #props #cosplay

Progress on the #volvo #P1800, rebuilt SU carbs are installed, as well as the new intake and exhaust manifolds. Changed out the mechanical throttle linkage for a cable drive. Need to install the rest of the new exhaust system and keep moving forward

Had a lucky break (ha!) while working on the #Volvo #P1800. After getting the intake and exhaust off, bumped against the oil pressure sender hose (black tube hanging) & it snapped clean off. Luckily this happened now & not on the road, or that would've been potentially catastrophic engine failure.

Sending hose for mechanical oil pressure gauge hanging loosely in the engine bay of 1965 Volvo P1800. The hose broke while working on the car, thankfully.

The #Volvo #P1800 is back in the garage after some time being stowed away outside. Got someone working on rebuilding the original carbs, and going to start swapping in the new parts I've picked up. Hoping in a month or two it'll be running so I can get the brakes and suspension checked out.

1965 Volvo P1800 is pushed back into our garage in preparation for more work to finally be done to it.

you do have to do it in a couple of places but this tutorial makes it easy to go uncheck the boxes that otherwise lets Google's AI read all your shit. or move everything over to protonmail but moving everything over is a giant thing I know.

Was watching a @galacticarmory.net video on 3d printing #cosplay , & how they don't support the top inside of a helmet, & that it doesn't matter if it gets stringy as long as the exterior prints fine. It made me think - "ah, yes, cosplay, where it's fine to say it's not what's inside that matters."

Second coat of white on the Shaxx helmet came out much better than the first. Also doing "metal under layer" tests for the Helldiver helmets to see whether Rust-Oleum Aluminum Metallic or Citadel Lead Belcher looks better for Liquid Latex masked "scratches".

Rocketeer is weathered and clear coated, Shaxx helmet is wet sanded and a fresh coat of primer (should have been wet sanding these prints sooner, such better results from less effort).
