Learning new potentially deep and complex tools like generic 3D software, is usually hard and takes lot of effort. I have 8 (or so) years of Blender experience, I bet if I tried to learn and use Maya I'd feel really miserable at start and miss how things worked in Blender 😀

If there's something positive to take away from AAA game prices feeling pressure to rise prices and eventually going 80-100€ (how much of that is just greed vs true necessity, I remain to be convinced) ... Indie games market share and audience will surely just keep growing thanks to it.

Hello! Congratulations on 5k! I make surrealistic, expressionistic 3D sculpts. Some more, some less dark. Mainly using Blender nowadays for whole process - but many of my older pieces are sculpted in zbrush.

Wait, games for switch 2 will be 80-90€ 😬 ? Ok, I might not be that interested afterall 😅 ... I'll wait and see, definitely not a launch purchase now.

Yeah, Metroid Prime 4 was already enough reason (for me) to buy switch 2 :D Also new donkey kong looked interesting. Probably gonna get elden ring tarnished edition, especially if it gets shadow of the erdtree dlc as part of it (which I think is very likely).

a bit funny how small section silksong was from that presentation considering how hungry and hyped so many people are for any update on it At least it had "2025" on it, so release this year? :D

Didn't have Fromsoft making Switch 2 exclusive game on my bingo cards - even more reason for me to buy Switch 2 eventually.

Oh I bet. Now that we are on topic, I recommend everyone to read book that I finished reading last week, "Autocracy, Inc." by Anne Applebaum. About autocracies helping each other out globally and working together to undermine democracies. www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...

I once tried it, it was very noticeable… maybe it was grungy, crunchy textures I usually try to go for. That was long time ago though. I will try again with my next piece.

Started like 3 new art projects today, didn't like any of them. Not sure if any of them are salvageable. Sometimes I can just start sculpting with image in my mind, sometimes I need to first sketch something down. I guess I should have sketched today first. Oh well. Sometimes it do be like that.

I loved those cam kennedy star wars comics when I was a kid (and still do!) read them over many times... wonder if I still have them somewhere, I remember buying new copies of them from flea market around 2019... 👀

Metroid Prime 4 looking good. I'm hoping that 2 and 3 get remastered or at least ported to switch before 4 releases. First one was so well remastered for switch I really really enjoyed it.

Hello! Only recently gotten active at bluesky 👋 I do what I'd call surrealistic ... expressionistic(?) 3D sculpts. Two pictures are ones I've done past years - third one is WIP, one I have been working on since yesterday.
