I do not think LeBron would do that, but if I lost a lot of money betting on polymarket or whoever it might color my perception.

When the Sixers inevitably lose in the first round, will people understandably wonder if LeBron threw the series?

I watch 4 baseball games a year and the Yankees losing in the playoffs is a perfect time for one of them. Yes I am originally from the Boston area.

Lmao fuck the Yankees. Hilariously bad base running there. Let's go Rays!

Only likes realism but read the Odyssey.... Like people who complain about ya books being written for teens. The mind reels.

I have good luck with my current book clubs, but that kind of person is so funny. Especially about the Odyssey! Did she not know what she was getting into??

Really enjoy the person who replied to this with the Bulls playoff record in 1987. What on earth....

Kuier is a restricted free agent which helps the Wings. Offer sheets are rare but starting level bigs like her don't grow on trees so we'll see if any teams go big on an offer.

Also figuring out if there is any way to keep Awak Kuier. Seems unlikely anyone would take Alanna Smith but maybe attach a pick? Lot to give up but it won't be a particularly good first round pick and as up and down as Smith played this year she was very good recently.

Very successful year from Dallas. Good fight. Big next step is how to get Paige driving offense in big moments. Maybe she was playing hurt but she was not good enough. Turned down open 3s for clanked 2s and avoided driving even with openings.

The opening is uh nsfw but it gets into real stuff quickly.

Jeff P not acknowledging that the reason the team was so injured is cause he signed multiple injured players is something. Rickea was bad luck and who knows with Skyler but the rest...

Kayla Thornton or (strictly speaking on court) Dijonai Carrington could make sense. Kennedy Burke would have to take a paycut, but maybe she would fit.

Lexie Hull is better chasing around guards and wings, doesn't guard up that well.

Number one thing Fever need is Sophie Cunningham but good. A wing who can defend 4s and provide offense. MHA did her best, but Stephanie White spent the whole game wondering who would let them not play 4-5 on offense. Raven Johnson might get there as a guard who can credibly defend up in size.

Just asked Victor Wembanyama if he’d ever consider promoting a sports betting company. “Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. .. Everybody does whatever they want, but without me.”

Didn't know if we would get Alysha Clark, elite post scorer ever again. Letting new fans know she led the country in scoring in college as an undersized 4.

Wonder which team is going to sign Awak Kuier next year. Given the money Dallas gave Shephard and Smith, doubt they can offer her a competitive offer. Awak would look good in Golden State.

I kept saying her approach seemed better in the first month but her TS was bad. Fun that it caught up with the approach over the course of the season.

Raven Johnson saving Caitlin Clark's season is very funny for a bunch of narratives from their college days.

LMAO at accusing someone of watching Trae Young when in fact they saw Caitlin Clark. Clarks deep shots actually go in.

And the winner of the Mystics’ half-court contest at the end of shootaround is… special guest participant Elena Delle Donne. Team went crazy when her shot went in. (Including Georgia Amoore handing her jersey to EDD: “Suit up tonight!”)

Realistically the play better button is most likely to work but Brodie has been good all year.

Pretty sure Reeve can't start Nia Brodie over Napheesa Collier in game 2 given the Lynx want to re-sign Collier, but uhhhh

Stewart is 2-3 from 3. Lol Lynx should hope that the Liberty won't shoot 50% in the next game. Make or miss sport indeed.

Oh probably not the same person. This one is scrupulous about not rooting for the team or criticising. Being neutral. Super professional and I don't get the sense it's to maintain access like some journos. But what do I know really.

I respect the heck out of the reporter, and always learn from them, I am sub-posting, just a small disagreement about what is more valuable to me reading beat reporters and sports reporters in general.

Peter Kilkelly @fiveoutbasketball.com · 22/09/2026
Beat reporters should be neutral and not be fans of the team, their job is it accurately report. But I do think some opinion and sense of if a team is getting closer to its stated goals of competing deep into the playoffs is valuable. Like, is the team you cover making reasonable choices.
