Wore this t-shirt to the Minnesota State Fair yesterday. It was a big hit. Well, not with everyone I guess. I got a lot of “love your shirt” along with smiles and smirks and one photo. I got a few sneers, too. I guess you can’t please everyone.

We made our annual trek to the Minnesota State Fair on opening day. The weather was great, and we had our 2 boys (both adults now) with us. My favorite food was the pork belly on a Bao bun at RC’s BBQ. I have loved the fair since I was a kid. It is the great MN get together. @governorwalz.mn.gov

Bao Belly Smoked barbecue is pork belly drizzled with RC's hot sauce and yum yum sauce. Topped with pickled vegetables and cilantro and served on folded, steamed bao buns.

A wall of skulls and skull parts from the Brno Ossuary (Czech: Brněnská kostnice). It’s an underground ossuary in Brno, Czech Republic. It was rediscovered in 2001 in the historical centre of the city, partially under the Church of St. James. It is estimated that the ossuary holds the remains of over 50 thousand people, which makes it the second-largest ossuary in Europe, after the Catacombs of Paris.

I’m 55 and started listening to music on one of these. Music has always been special to me, and I love discovering new stuff. I probably spend about 20-30 minutes a day on music challenges. I am happy to see more artists joining Bluesky, but I wish there were more.

The culture war in MN is over the state flag. The flag was redesigned in 2024. The previous version from the 1950’s shows a Native American riding away on his horse with a white man plowing a field. It was time to update it. At least it makes it easy to identify MAGA in your neighborhood.

The new Minnesota flag with a navy blue shape that looks like the outline of the state on the left. There is a white 8-pointed star in the middle of the dark blue shape. The right portion of the flag is teal in color.
