Creepy crawlies have always intrigued me. I don't fear them, in general, but this Lesser Antilles Thick Tail Scorpion (Tytius smithii) scared the living daylights out of me after crawling out of the bath towel I intended to use. Captured and released, of course. #scorpion #surprise #scary #beauty

Another little oddity is Hippeastrum idimae, relative of numerous Hippeastrum hybrids that are popular Christmas flowers, sold as bulbs a month or so before. Hippeastrum idimae is, in comparison, absolutely tiny. The flower on the photo did not exceed 4 cm. #bulbs #flower #hippeastrum #photography

For my first post on Bluesky, I chose a detailed photo of the delicate flower of the Cape Sundew (Drosera capensis). The flower is short-lived and is quickly replaced by another from the same inflorescence. #macro #carnivorousplants #drosera #sundew
