I've been working on this gift for a while now! But here she is, my latest Chain of Memories NPC! It's Peczi, the main mermaid of the webcomic Damselfish in Distress by @fishlady.bsky.social !

Sharktober 2026 is here! 🌊🦈✨ As always, I’m late to this, and my past self never considers my future self’s sanity about organizing the files to edit this animation or create a new, easier one haha, but here’s the list for anyone who wants to participate!

Oh cool! I think it’s fun to look back at old work and see how styles and skills have changed. But I also cringe at my old stuff too lol

Wonderful thread, thank you for making this! I think the public opinion of sharks has improved a lot over the years and I hope it keeps improving because sharks deserve better 💙

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of Jaws 🩸🦈I made a list to score, with 13 levels of stereotypes about sharks, I hope it is useful for those who want to create works beyond the fear ingrained by Jaws and seek new creative representations of sharks. #shark #jaws #jaws50thanniversary #jaws50

After noticing patterns over the years, I created this list with 13 points to score the level of stereotypes about sharks present in a work. I believe that most of these stereotypes have their main origin in the film Jaws (1975).

With the scarcity of works that explore other creative approaches to sharks, beyond the “man-eating ” narrative, Jaws ended up consolidating itself as the greatest source of inspiration and creative reference for many productions to this day. This was called “The Jaws Effect”.

I've noticed that certain patterns in the creative world repeat themselves to the point of being tedious, which bothers me. Not because they're bad, but because in many cases they're harmful. With these points, I hope to show sharks in a new light.

I moved to a new apartment over the weekend and I think moving my fish tank took 5 years off of my life 😮‍💨😵‍💫 but everyone survived, even the corals! 💙🪸

I made it up lol I started doing it a few years ago because I wanted to get better at drawing water but it was always around February/January so I named it Oceanuary 😊
