Ugggh the COVID + Flu vaccines kicked my butt this year, after no side effects for the last few. Daughter and I are both struggling with headaches, exhaustion and nausea today.

Looks good for a female - there is actually a similar bird in the Merlin listing for the species.

We failed 😿 no bears this week, but we saw just about everything else I wanted to see! Faraway moose was still amazing, migrating along the highway near Jackson, Wyoming with his GIGANTIC antlers.

Absolutely pushed the limits of my camera to get wildlife shots this week — not pretty, but I’m amazed these mountain goats were recognizable at all. Where I saw them vs the shot:

Even better than seeing a moose, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats. They were all far away, pika was up close and THE BEST!

Ohhh mountain beaver? Never heard them called that! I’ve never seen one.

I could not believe it. As soon as we got out of the car at the marmot / pika spot it came right out! No marmots though, which I thought would be a sure thing to show my daughter. Will try again for Moose, Bears, Marmots!

Allegedly, they are on the Eagle Creek trail and Beacon Rock at unusually low altitude, but I’ve struck out every time.

We just witnessed this herd of elk crossing the Yellowstone River - there was over fifty of them, including small ones that got washed downstream a couple of times. Amazing! Birthday week at Yellowstone starts today!
