Retired guy who likes old radios, old computers, and old movies. Throw in a good sci-fi novel or history book, and I'm set, along with a cold beer and a good burrito.

What a tremendous tournament - thanks you so much, Fire players - we are so proud of you! @portlandfire.bsky.social

I asked "an assistant" provide suggestions to fix the Portland Fire's paint defensive. It boiled down to: 1) Employ a sudden, angled "dart" instead of a slow telegraphed rotation. 2) Consider the Diamond-and-One defense after initial pressure. 3) Utilize scouting and weak-side forcing. Thoughts?

I've made a video about an Australian Tiny BASIC from the '80s that ran on the DATUM SBC trainer computer. It's a quirky little language, to be sure! youtu.be/0868cPYibDE

I put up a new video to YouTube about the (brief) role of the Floppy ROM in personal computing history, plus there's a tour of SWTPC 4K floating point BASIC (how-to, patches, demos). www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuT8...

My homemade, hand-wired 6502 machine, presented in honor of #ChuckPeddleDay. 32K RAM, 16K ROM, 6850 ACIA, running at 921 kHz. It has the Apple 1 WozMon for a monitor, plus 4 BASICs, FOCAL, and Tiny PILOT for high-level programming.
