📚 REVIEW 📚If I’ve said it once,I’ve said it a fair few times. @liznugentwriter is a genius.You can quote me on that, Liz. On a future book cover perhaps 👀‘Unravelling Oliver’ is my fifth, and penultimate read with only ‘Skin Deep’ left now and man, Liz knows how to write unlikeable characters, does she not?This one packs a punch literally from the first line of the book. Then Liz seamlessly weaves her way though five decades of family drama, secrets and lies as we unravel what Oliver has done, his desires and his motivations.There are a plethora of POVs here, each with their own distinct voice – from childhood friends to lifetime lovers – as they all recall moments in time where their paths crossed Oliver.It’s as unputdownable as any Nugent novel (and this was unbelievably her first novel from 12 years ago) and just when you’re wondering when everything is going to bind together… BAM… everything absolutely does. My jaw dropped.It’s a short book at just 230 pages but done so so well and making every single word count – and for me it’s another read worthy of all the stars.I really don’t know what I’m going to do once I’ve finished all of Liz’s novels. I really really don’t.Anyway, ‘Unravelling Oliver’ is HIGHLY recommended. From that gut punch of a first line right to when the penny drops for everyone…Trust me on this one. I’m deliberately not telling you much about this story. Order it. Don’t read the blurb. Go in completely blind. And enjoy another beautifully written, award-winning novel from Liz.
