For the most part you will not be paying unless it's a paid third-party service, such as VTRC and their backpack/robot slots. If anything, a con should be paying *you* for your appearance (although admittedly this is a little rare in the scene)

I've mostly only done virtual spots too, so don't worry. They do tend to be the most common type of spot. I'll have a list of all the different options and what to look for!

I'm working on a guide for attending cons as a vtuber! 💪 I'd really like some input from vtubers about what areas you would like me to cover. Also, what are your main concerns when it comes to convention safety? I'm adding a section on safety tips currently and want to cover everything I can!

How do I Become a Guest at a Convention?
A Simple Overview for Vtubers
Written by Firozera

Foreword and Introduction

It's event season with many conventions and other groups looking for guests. While there is no sure-fire way to become a guest, I was once involved in running a con. I helped source and handle guests and was in charge of picking and running panels. Since becoming a vtuber, I have been a guest at and attended several cons now in a variety of ways!

This document will go over the number of options available to become a guest, as well as things to consider when applying and how to be a good guest.

For background: GAO morning! I'm Firozera and I research vtuber topics to help vtubers have safe, fun journeys while also seeking ways to increase interest in vtubers outside of our sphere. One of the best ways we can achieve this is through our presence at conventions. This way we can connect with people who may be slightly familiar with vtubers but have never directly met one. In 2025, I ran the Vtuber Interaction Zone at SMASH! where I created an Australian record for most vtubers invited to a convention.

💠❖ 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐙𝐄 𝐕𝐓𝐔𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐒 ❖💠 A handy guide on how to run collabs and things to consider! #firocational

『 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯 』
➤ Consider what type of collab you want to do and what will be required to organise it. If it’s casual you probably don’t have to worry too much about preparing anything. However, for other types you may need to put in some serious effort. You may also want to consider asking people if they want to do an off-stream trial first (especially if you have concerns to do with tech or teamwork).

『 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲 』
➤ The bigger the scope of the stream, the more time you should allow for organising. Participants may require some time to prepare or ensure they have the time off if the stream is an important one for all involved.
➤ It may be best to go with a rough time and date - such as a weekend when you’re free. This will allow guests from multiple timezones to have some input and find the best time possible.
➤ Use the Hammertime site or Discord's built in feature to create timecodes which will automatically convert to the viewer’s timezone when posted into Discord, reducing the confusion that can arise from converting using other methods.
➤ Please remember first and foremost that your guests are volunteering their valuable time for you - especially if you’re the only one streaming. Treat their time with respect and don't be late.

⋉ 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗔 ⋊

GAO morning~ It's me, Firo! Thank you for reading my research notes, I hope you'll find them informative and interesting.

When I'm not stomping on cities and tripping over (they don't call me The Disastrous Kaiju for nothing), I'm a variety streamer. I love silly simulator games but I also do a number of other, more organised streams, such as:

◇ Study sessions on vtuber topics
◇ Anime podcasts
◇ Game shows
◇ Slideshow presentations

My unique niche is researching and documenting various aspects of vtubing, with a focus on creating educational content and resources for vtubers to help inspire and guide them. Our industry is still young but I want to ensure vtubing is around for many more years to come! I hope you'll continue to support me into the future ♡

⋉ 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗦 & 𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗬 ⋊

Firo has displayed multiple forms from observation:

◇ Prehistoric/Heisei Form ➤ A bipedal/theropod-like form reminiscent of western dragons
◇ Modern/Reiwa Form ➤ A quadruped/sauropod-like form reminiscent of the eastern Kirin/Qilin

◇ Base Form ➤ Firozera's preferred form, this combines a humanoid body with features from her more monster-like counterparts. This form has a number of crystal elements, with the lines of her body appearing to resemble clothes but are more akin to the cleavage lines found in gemstone formations
◇ Gremlin Form ➤ These are produced when parts of her base body are shattered. The resulting shards transform into their own miniature creatures, although it is unknown why they wear bunny suits

⋉ 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗮, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: ⋊

✓ Merch is okay but please ask permission first!

✓ SFW allowed
✕ NSFW and other explicit topics not allowed

✓ Battles and comedy situations with others okay (ask other person's permission first). Aspects must be tasteful, not insulting
✕ No shipping art

◇ The body suit does not come off and must be worn under clothes (exception is the bunny suit, where bare shoulders/very top part of chest is okay)
◇ Horns can change shape but always make sure there are four and the proportions (big vs little) and placement are similar
◇ Main colour can be changed from green but hair is always blonde
◇ Inside of mouth is green
◇ Gremlin Firo's chevrons on her bunny ear horns point upwards, while Chibi Firo has chevrons which point down
◇ Don't forget the shoulder blade crystals and ahoge!

Observation report for Firozera with a photo of the kaiju and the following text:

Professor of Kaiju Evolutionary Physiology @Edo_sama
Professors of Kaiju Morphology @Miyukiko & @PotatoHastur
Professor of Kaiju Kinesiology @Sharmkie
Kaiju Designation: Firozera
Nature: Bio-Crystalline
Height: 378ft
Abilities: Shapeshifting, Congregative Reforming, Eye Lasers
Threat Potential: Unknown

Named after the Persian word for turqoise, “Firuzeh”, Firozera
seems to be a creature composed entirely of nonorganic mineral
with the ability to shift forms to some extent. The kaiju also
seems to have little trouble reforming after being shattered
apart, as was witnessed during attempted defensive strikes.

It is unknown how long Firozera has existed on Earth, however
samples taken from the kaiju were revealed to contain reidite,
a rare mineral found within astroblemes. It is theorised that
Firozera may be of extraterrestrial origins and changed the
very course of our planet’s evolutionary destiny upon arrival.

Firozera initially appeared preferring a dinosaurian form but
slowly shifted towards a more humanoid one, allowing for
research teams to attempt communication. The team has observed
several other form displays, but over time we have developed a
sort of amicable relationship with the kaiju.

Currently, Firozera is working with the VIRTULANTES team under
the care of the Planetary Protection Agency. She has also
developed a love of vtubers and seeks to support them for all
the joy they’ve brought her.
