🔥 Fact or Fiction: Removing pine needles and leaves from my roof and gutters won't make a big difference to my home's wildland fire risk. ❌ Fiction. Embers from wildland fires can travel kilometres ahead of a fire front, and all they need is a small pile of dry debris to catch.

Fiction: If my lawn is green, my home can’t burn. 🍃 Fact: During a wildland fire, embers can travel kilometres ahead of the fire front and ignite combustible materials around your home, including grass. The tip: cut your grass short, less than 10cm!
