This is so shortsighted. Once they allow any truck to use red dyed diesel, there is no way to put that genie back in the bottle. Big rigs will stop paying diesel tax and roads will become a pot hole haven with no funds to repair. This will definitely end badly.

Not only rationing but taxation. If big rigs didn’t pay taxes from their diesel consumption, say hello to permanent pot holes. We don’t tax farm equipment bc they don’t normally hurt the road and are a need since they grow our food. Red dye kept fraud at bay.

The dyes dye the tank which gets checked regularly. If a big rig used red dyed (tax exempt) in it, they’d get in a ton of trouble. The dyes basically helped separate each use and tax levy. Once they start letting big rigs use the red dyed, as proposed, no getting that genie back in the bottle.
