I think that sci-fi AI and real life "AI" are also just fundamentally different, on a technical level. "is a mechanical brain, that's functionally identical to a living one, a person?" is an infinitely more compelling scenario than one where it's just a pile of text data being sorted by an algorithm

if an impossible jump isn't made impossible-looking enough, to the point where it pushes players to try to squeeze the most out of coyote time (or is in fact makeable but only with coyote time), then I consider that a level design issue rather than a coyote time issue. But I see what you're sayin'
