Hi, gang! I'm Fiona, usually to be found telling stories about loveable oddball kids solving mysteries and falling in the sea. When I'm not doing that, I'm usually hanging out with my dog, driving my tractor and eating things I find in the hedges.
Fiona sits on a rock with a stack of her books in her lap. She is a white woman with long ginger hair, wearing a burgundy linen dress. There is a tree behind her and a froth of cow parsley to one side.Fiona is standing side on to the camera smiling at the black dog who is jumping up on herFiona is driving a blue vintage tractor through a fieldFiona's hand is holding a bowl full of chamomile flowers in a flowery field

Do you ever think about National Book Tokens sitting down and being like "hey, let's do a cute game for our bookworm fans" and instead getting a day of death threats and simmering violence from the entire publishing community? Glorious.

Travelling for a meeting, which means waiting on a platform in November for a train that's delayed 40 mins by a storm and having a man immediately strike up a conversation with you, opening with "there's too much immigration, that's the problem". I just know this meeting isn't gonna be worth it.

Do you ever think about the wedding dress designer on Selling Sunset who had to pretend that Christine Quinn was the first bride to ever ever ask for a black wedding dress?

I have read this book twice this year because I find it so genuinely delightful, and I'm not sure what that says about me, really. I'm also now cutting tomatoes with a serrated knife! Thanks for changing my life, Dorothy!

Seeing more bookish people pop up here every day, so here's another intro! I'm Fiona, and I write middle grade adventures. I live in a teeny cottage in the Irish countryside with a very surely cat and a very naughty puppy, and like to eat things I've picked out of the hedges. #KidLit
