2/ Meta found guilty of lying about Cambridge Analytica & hate speech, violence + misinformation policies. Now they face up to $219 billion in penalties. It took years (and a lot of begging to be believed, while leaning on those who came before me for strength), but the public has finally spoken.

Early in the generative AI cycle, commentators said ChatGPT presented a major threat to Google’s search dominance. They misunderstood what was happening. ChatGPT set Google free, and allowed it to do things it already wanted to do. disconnect.blog/google-is-it...
Google’s power came from its dominance of search, and now that OpenAI had its own interface for people to find information, Google was supposedly in trouble. Microsoft’s Bing couldn’t steal significant market share from the king of search in the past, but expert commentators were certain that was about to change with ChatGPT. How wrong they were.

In November 2022, Google controlled 92% of the search market. By last month, it hovered around 90%. Not the decimation all those smart tech watchers predicted. That should have been obvious. As I argued at the time, those claiming to foresee a decline of Google had it all wrong: ChatGPT wasn’t a threat to Google; the release of the chatbot by a company outside the top echelons of the tech industry set it free.

ChatGPT was never Google’s biggest threat; it was always its own hubris. With Search now being sacrificed on the altar of AI dominance, the time has come for users to get serious about moving off Google services. It’s not only destroying its products; it’s trying to further degrade the web itself.

Reupping this cause it’s evergreen and I feel better knowing someone out there called him out like this
A screenshot of an opinion by Oliver Kornetzke from August 18th, 2025. There’s a photo of a tired, bloated Donald trump over the opinion that reads: behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill fitting suit: the sleeves of economy, man, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a clansman, the sexism of a back alley creep, and the greed of a hedge fund ghoul – all spray painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a country fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn’t but has always been – arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed, exalted as ambition, and corruption worship like gospel. It is America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol, proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spike, it doesn’t just lose its soul – it shits out this bloated, obscenity, and calls it a leader.
