Since citizens united I am now for one and done. Congress people start running for reelection the first day of their term and they are beholden to corporate donors. Grassley may be in for a rude surprise with awful cancer rates and farm bankruptcies & farmer suicides up in Iowa. Enough.

I watched it. Not only was it offensive but the delivery was terrible and just not funny. He looked like he knew he was bombing but couldn't stop himself. He really needs to get new writers or if he writes himself, fire himself and get someone new or get a new career. This ones isn't working.

IMHO it's just a way to funnel money to Putin. I don't know if Putin is squeezing Trump or he just adores him that much. US is a net exporter of diesel. The easiest solution would be to stop exports and additional supply would lower prices. You know who has no interest in that? Fossil fuel donors.

We could get it from Canada. Or we could temporarily stop exports as we are a net exporter of diesel. Fossil fuel companies have no desire to do this as additional US supply would pressure them to lower prices which they have zero interest in doing. Just another scam and a way to send Putin our $$.

I was chatting with some generally non-political millenials yesterday and they were all talking with disgust about Hegseth's live streaming of an execution. This seemed to bring home to them the deep sickness and glorification of violence of the administration. They're horrified.

Dem. Socialism creates a more equitable society, resulting in a happier environment for all including the wealthy. It does require people wanting to raise up "others". I fear the US is so divided into tribes (thanks unhelpful MAGA) by the wealthy that they can't embrace it. US society is unwell.

Getting rid of government services because of the type of Capitalism we have, would bring a complete breakdown of society (seeing some of this already). I do agree US Capitalism is a problem as government and business ($$) interests are overlapping in extremely corrupt ways.

Congress and Supreme ct are failures. Lower Courts are barely hanging on. Let's not forget CNN & MSNBC started Biden bashing as soon as he was elected & barely talk about Trumps age & obvious mental decline. Who talks about Epstein files anymore? Agreed. I am retiring this year from my small business. I almost went back to work in the corporate world because I was turned down for ins. because I had had marital counseling. I was grateful for the ACA and it was the only reason I could have my business. Still, too expensive.

Remember when we had a CDC that monitored this. Reminder that Trump dismantled the pandemic task force & pulled CDC out of China where they worked hand in hand on things like disease prevention. Maybe international Covid would never have happened without this. We certainly would have known more.
