Feeling terribly middle class. For the first time in my life I have a piano tuner in my house to sort out this 100yr gift that plinks like it belongs in a saloon.
An orange cat sits on a piano stool beside an old piano. The sheet music behind the cat says PIANO TIME!

Hearing “I’m Going Home” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack this morning brought floods. Cards for sorrow, cards for pain indeed. A fabulous man.

My face on seeing the departure boards at the station. Solidarity with anyone running the gauntlet by rail today. #emr #trains #powercut

Beigli displaying his feline grace today.
A ginger-and-white cat sleeps sprawled across a deep purple quilt, stretched out with oversized front paws reaching toward the camera. The cat's eyes are closed in a relaxed expression, whiskers fanned gently across its face. Behind it is a warm, colourful room with terracotta-red walls, decorative mirrors, candles, hanging clothes, and a bicycle wheel visible in soft focus. The shallow depth of field keeps the sleeping cat sharply in focus while the eclectic background blurs into rich colours and shapes.

It is tragic that the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest has passed away after a millennium, but there is a descendant of it living in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. If you're ever in town, come to Broadgate Park and find the twigbaby of Robin Hood's tree! maps.app.goo.gl/1Z63QBf1uMqJ...
The Major Oak, an ancient oak tree in Sherwood Forest, stands supported by a network of green metal props beneath its massive spreading branches. Its thick, hollow trunk is deeply furrowed and weathered with age, while a broad canopy of green and autumn-tinted leaves fills most of the frame. Sunlight filters through the branches, and woodland trees can be seen in the background. The extensive support structure highlights the tree's great age and historical significance.

Something pleasingly absurd. “Aleatory Journalism", a phrase I coined for my work now exists... as an Urban Dictionary mug!? I’m not sure whether a mug counts as a peer-reviewed citation, but at least I'm officially MUG FAMOUS.

In case your Wednesday needs a picture of my wise old cat, may I introduce... the venerable Bexley

Creative sorts! If you had a cello in your room and wanted to decorate the case to make it a feature, what would you do with it? Googly eyes maybe? 👀

Enjoyed a fabulous birthday weekend! Received an a brass art noveau letter rack, tarot decks, a folio edition of The Devil's Dictionary, a pair of Celtic knot cufflinks, went to The Marriage of Figaro and had Happy Birthday sung over the phone in both Welsh AND Spanish. Utterly spoiled.

The Flowers of Bottesford Day (March 11th), commemorates the 1618 Belvoir witch trials where the Flower family were condemned for "practising sorcerie" against the Manners heirs. After these executions, the Duke of Buckingham married Katherine Manners. A line that leads to King Charles III.
1619 pamphlet title page "The Wonderful Discoverie of the Witchcrafts of Margaret and Phillip Flower" describing the Belvoir Castle witches of Bottesford executed at Lincoln in 11th March 1619.
