The rankings combine your scores from multiple runs, so you have to be consistently good. The leaderboards will reset every so often. The first season runs from two weeks after 7.56 until 7.58, about a month and a half. High ranking players will get a mount. It's shiny.

Once you clear every board in the Crucible, you unlock Degrees, higher difficulty levels. You should be ready for this once you've finished the job quests. Yoshidia is in disbelief that what Mr Ozma just played is considered medium difficulty.

When a beast reaches rank 25 (the max), you unlock an alternate appearance for them. This can be used outside the Crucible.

You will also be able to buy items with currency obtained in the Crucible. Of note is a specific type of item known as Feed, which can be used to buff your beasts. A beast can only consume so much feed within a run.

Some nodes on the board will provide treasure or healing. Treasure will give you four potential rewards of which you can take one. Healing will also heal some of your beasts.

The provoking abilities also cover, which may be useful for tankbusters. Also noted is that borrowing an ability does not go away when you summon a different beast, unless you then borrow that beast's ability too.

You also have two duty actions, Snarl, which causes your summoned beast to provoke, and Challenge, which causes you to provoke. You don't recover HP either, so you have to balance out who takes damage!

When in the Crucible, you navigate from node to node on the board, trying to get to the end. Beasts are selected for each fight when reaching it, and lost HP will not be recovered afterward. The info when selecting beasts will also tell you what status effects may be useful.

Before starting a board, you'll be able to see the layout and what you'll be fighting, so you may better form your party. Like Blue Mage's Masked Carnivale, enemies in the Crucible do have elemental affinities, including physical affinities, that can be planned around.

Your beasts will also get stronger and increase their rank within the Crucible, making them more powerful. (As far as I can tell the beast ranks only apply in Crucible) Beasts also have HP in Crucible, so be careful or they'll be unable to fight.

Beastmasters will be able to access the single player duty The Crucible of the Unbroken upon reaching their level 30 job quest. The Beastmaster takes a team of up to 15 beasts into this board game like environment to defeat bosses and continue to level that way.

The Beastmaster also has the skills Rally and Rallying Cheer, which interact with the TP gauges, allowing you to perform a combo of all 4 affinities when used correctly.

Completing a combo correctly will light up half of the circle at the middle of the job gauge. This is called an intentional combo. The gauge also shows the correct order. You want to go clockwise.

Skills also have an affinity, and picking the correct affinity will make a combo do even more damage. Monsters only have one skill each, but the Beastmaster has a skill for every affinity, so you can always combo correctly.

TP is back, but only for Beastmaster, it's part of their job gauge. The Beastmaster and summoned monster both have TP, used to spend on instinctual skills. If the Beastmaster and beast use their instinctual skills within 7 seconds of each other, they'll do a combo for more damage.

Summoning a monster grants One With Nature, which is consumed to use Tempered Release or Borrow. So you can only use one per summon.

At the start of battle, monsters will auto-attack the same target as the player. When in battle an action that dismisses a beast will put that battlehorn on cooldown for 90 seconds. Effective gameplay requires juggling all three beasts.

The Beastmaster has a few generic actions that change based on the deployed monsters. Parting Blow dismisses a beast to do a powerful AoE, Trick performs an instinctual skill, Tempered Release does a unique action, Borrow takes power from the beast to give the Beastmaster an attack of their own.

To summarise already announced content, Beastmaster will require any job level 50 or higher, completion of 2.0 MSQ, and Dawntrail registered to the player's account. It is a melee DPS using a one-handed axe that starts at level 1 and currently caps at 50.
