Great stuff from @davecook.bsky.social , @clarkbintart.bsky.social and Co. Storyline looks like its going to bend ya brain. And the art ! Wow ! To use that ol' cliche - eye-popping !

Put off reading this since getting it at TBub25 to provide a bit of "distance" from the original issues. Glad I did as reading this in a single sitting provides fresh insight into TOMB as a complete body of work. @benjaminaefilby.bsky.social and @ianface.bsky.social you can feel justifiably proud.

A change of pace by @mattgarvey1981.bsky.social and no bad thing. Great idea, with a nice curve-ball to set up future installments. And really effective ilustrations by Martin Hrastić. Plus, was one of the lucky few to get a slabbed copy. Cheers Matt !

A super slice of modern myth-making (for that read "re-purposing"). Great concept and script from @michaelwalsh.bsky.social and terrific, at times visceral, visuals by @gustaffovargas.bsky.social. Great stuff !

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 08/03/2026

Terrific book from @joeharris.bsky.social and the ever excellent @russellmarkolson.bsky.social. A cool idea executed perfectly. Does for baseball what Sinners has done for the blues (if that isn't too presumptuous).

Finally catching up with this really rather excellent series by @jordanthomas.bsky.social, @danielgete.bsky.social and @wordie.bsky.social. Gripping story and superb illustration. Will be seeking out vol.2 to see how it all pans out.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Terrific take on the "not really heroes but look what we've stumbled into" genre (if such a thing exists...well it does now). Caped kudos to @duanemurray.bsky.social @theahmedraafat.bsky.social and @robjoneswrites.bsky.social for a fun ride.

What a gorgeous book. Beautifully illustrated and cleverly written by @normkonyu.bsky.social. Edgar never had it so good.

Another winner from the @mattgarvey1981.bsky.social House of Ideas (IPR theft acknowledged). Looking forward to the monstrous conclusion !

Starting on the TBub25 pile with these couple of gems by @danwhite.bsky.social. Cindy & Biscuit brilliant as always but really taken by the early Secret Oranges stuff - especially Beau & Me.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 09/02/2026

Great to see the Altiplano story collected in a single volume. And nice to see a resolution of sorts for Lila and Sonia. Gorgeous work (as always) from @gustaffovargas.bsky.social

Great to get reacquainted with the old seadog. Super stuff from @rapiaghi.bsky.social @robjoneswrites.bsky.social and @rorydraws4.bsky.social Hope Griff isn't "out to sea" for too long

Finally gettkng to the Kickstarter pile. First up - this little gem of a comedic space opera. But with a bit of a kick at the end. Kudos to @chrisbaldie.bsky.social and Michael Park.

Unashamedly biased post the third. Terrific (terrifying) end to the TOMB saga. Great story and script by Ian Mondrick (not on Bluesky ?). Superb artwork by @benjaminaefilby.bsky.social both ably supported by Bennion, Jones, Napier and Makepeace. We are the Pale Horse ?

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 03/02/2026

Unashamedly biased post the second. A fine debut solo collection from @benjaminaefilby.bsky.social Three cautionary tales economically told and superby illustrated.

Unashamedly biased post the first. Superb creepy little tale from @robjoneswrites.bsky.social beautifully illustrated by @benjaminaefilby.bsky.social

From the #Kickstarter pile - a fine end to the (current) series from @matthew-hardy.bsky.social @robjoneswrites.bsky.social (two of the nicest chaps in Indie Comics circles) & Co. All 3 issues have been superb.

All set up and ready to go. Go see @benjaminaefilby.bsky.social at #thoughtbubble (Bubble Boy Hall,Table C2) and say hello. Lots of quality books to peruse and buy !

Stunning visuals and gripping story as per usual from @simoart.bsky.social A brilliantly realised dystopian world. Really fascinated to see where this goes...

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

Mmm. Looks like Blackwood Enterprises have either sowed some pretty dodgy seeds or are about to need some pretty strong weedkiller. Plant-centric antics from @robjoneswrites.bsky.social @rapiaghi.bsky.social @matthew-hardy.bsky.social & Co.

The strangest acquisition from Thought Bubble 2024. And one of the strangest books I've ever read. The newspaper stories are by turns weird and horrifying. The illustrations by @jwebstersharp.bsky.social are mind-blowing. Truly unique.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 05/06/2025

A welcome delivery from the pen of @russellmarkolson.bsky.social. Super stuff. And a great, simple back cover that paints a perfect picture.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 05/06/2025

Revisited this rather excellent gritty crime story by @jordanthomas.bsky.social Chris Matthews and @letteringbear.bsky.social. Just as good as when I first delved into the Mugshots world.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

And yet more from the TBub24 stack. This fine horror/ere collection from @rapiaghi.bsky.social, @robjoneswrites.bsky.social and various others was fine (gruesome) entertainment. The two tales with the guy oblivious to, and inadvertently killing, a couple of eldritch threats were standouts for me.

232

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

A real favourite from my TBub24 haul. A great (if slightly skewed) take on my favourite comic book character by Ed Pinsent. Y'know sometimes when you stumble across something really special. Well...

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

A couple of slices of oddness (and a touch of nightmareishness from"Insomnia") from the pen/brush of @danwhite.bsky.social. And looking forward to more Cindy & Biscuit...

032

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Another great episode of Wind in he Willows with added chemicals and firepower by @chrisaldhous.bsky.social and Oliver Harud. Yes, from the TBub24 stack.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

Another one from the TBub24 backlog. The King is dead (well, nabbed through a portal actually), long live The King (to sort those pesky aliens).

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

From the TBub24 pile. A fine visceral (and funny) tale in here from @davecook.bsky.social and @davidcousens.bsky.social

232

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

More TBub24 catching up. This time a stack of goodies from @theahmedraafat.bsky.social and Co. I particularly like the Halftones collection and the Jerry Robinson hommage.

131

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

TBub24 / Patreon catch-up. Another super instalment to the Gateway City saga from @russellmarkolson.bsky.social - and just take a look at that cover ! The prose story in this volume wasn't too shabby either.

110

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 22/05/2025

Last TBub24 catch up for now. A nice little Flash Gordon yarn in here by @jordanthomas.bsky.social and @russellmarkolson.bsky.social

152

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 22/05/2025

And again with the TBub24 back catalogue. Great (vicious) ending to the Hardboiled Heart arc. It really did what it said on the tin. Kudos as always to @dftaylor.bsky.social

010

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 22/05/2025

More Tbub24 catching up. Great to get reacquainted with Mr Automatic. The usual high standard, high concept spy-jinks from @fraserc69.bsky.social @jamescorcoran78.bsky.social and Colin Bell

263

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 22/05/2025

Catching up on TBub24 haul (at long last). This book collecting some of the late Chris Reynolds' work is superb. Impossible to categorise. Extremely odd and slightly disturbing but beautifully, sparsely illustrated. Nicely done @darkandgolden.bsky.social

011

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 18/05/2025

Super who & why dunnit with a twist by Messrs @rdouek.com and @russellmarkolson.bsky.social. From TBub24 no less !

Rock n' Roll silliness from Mat Greaves

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 12/05/2025

Catching up on Kickstarter goodies. Double whammy from @mattgarvey1981.bsky.social and Co. Great stuff as always (x2)

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

My favourite writer since my early teens. So glad this is in print as I can revisit some old friends and meet a couple of new ones. As powerful and uniquely voiced as ever. Sadly missed.

Dave F @filbs.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

Tried really hard to get into this but it just didn't work for me. Any attempt at tension was undermined by appalingly slow pace. Oh well....
