Currently revisiting Detention (2017) as the 10th anniversary is coming up, and I found a parallel between Detention and Mouthwashing (2024) #detention2017 #mouthwashing #horrorgames

The first picture depicts a scene from Detention (2017) where the protagonist (Ray) shoots a reflection of Miss Yin. Miss Yin is sitting on a chair. The second picture depicts a scene from Mouthwashing (2024) where the protagonist (Jimmy) shoots Swansea as Swansea sits on a chair.

- the creators. Constructive feedback is great for any piece of media, but the online hatred and discourse for a piece of media that hasn’t even come out yet is kind of annoying. Especially, because the brunt of the criticism isn’t constructive.

If you don’t like something, why would you want to mindlessly engage with it? I’m not a fan of the aforementioned media, but I don’t make hating them my personality. I don’t watch them, I don’t engage with posts involving media like that, and I don’t make rude comments about-

Kind of disappointing that the reactions towards the Ghostbusters reboot, High Guardian Spice, She-Hulk, etc didn’t teach people to ignore stuff they don’t like, and now we’re having a similar type of dog pilling with LSP.

TLDR: If you’re a creative and you see a lack of something in media/the fandoms you’re in, don’t be afraid to make the content yourself.

Edit for an earlier post in this thread: apologies for the use of the question mark ? when I meant to use ! I may have pressed the wrong button when writing this thread lol.

-your own stories! I get it, as a fellow artist I understand that it’s fun to consume the art around you. With that being said, you also need to make sure you also create and keep in mind the criticism you have for other media when you create your own art. Please create, and don’t be afraid if-

Is there a certain type of character you wished existed? Write it in your story? Is there a character in a piece of media, you feel doesn’t get enough love? Make the content that caters to them! Is there a trope of plotline in a story you wished got addressed? Keep it in mind when you write-

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but if you’re an artist/writer, and you notice a common issue with the lack of content/tropes related to your favorite stories/fandom, then I beg you to create said content yourself instead of badgering that other people do it.

I know this is probably common knowledge, but I love how in Forgotten Island, Jo and Raissa’s friendship bracelets have the Manananggal split apart to represent the literal antagonist, and the plot point of the two splitting apart as they age #dreamworks #forgottenisland

New headcanon: Jas has her hair done by Penny. Because Penny only knows how to do one type of hairstyle, Jas ends up having similar puff silhouette to front facing Penny. #stardewvalley #stardewvalleyjas #stardewvalleypenny #sdv

Speaking of Jas, I think it’s cute that her main colors come from a mishmash between Shane and Penny’s main colors. Maybe I’m over reading it, but I still think it’s kind of cute 💜 #sdv #stardewvalley #stardewvalleyjas #stardewvalleypenny #stardewvalleyshane

Considering how Penny and Shane are both Jas’s parental figures, and how a lot of their interests are direct opposites (I.E. like/dislike preferences nearly being the opposite), I’m curious as to how they’d interact together. #stardewvalley #stardew

Coincidence or not, I think it's fascinating how a lot of enemy/ lover dynamics, canon or subtext, will have the protagonist/hero be emotionally repressed and/or be a perfectionist with some sort of facade. I feel bad for them because the only person who'll see through their facade is the same ~
