Was talking to a friend earlier about The Legend of Zelda and I think I want the series to go the same way as Super Mario did, regarding how it breaks down its main series games. 2D Style, 3D Linear and 3D Sandbox See the image below.

Mario 2D classic are all the 2D platforming games and Zelda are the top-down, isometric titles. Mario 3D linear are the level-based 3D games like Galaxy and 3D world, while Zelda's are the console games between Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword. And then Mario 3D Sandbox is Super Mario 64, Sunshine & Odyssey, and for Zelda it's the Wild-verse games.

As a jrpg newbie my plan was to do a classic dragon quest a classic final fantasy and then chrono trigger. About half way through Dragon Quest IV on DS. After that it’s FF4..but vita or DS?

@jonnymetts.bsky.social @guillaumenwr.bsky.social @thethirstymage.com testing out Bluesky more. Question: where would you recommend playing chrono trigger for the first time ? I have steam deck and that version apparently improved..also can emulate SNES on deck or play DS version on my new 2DS XL.
