Between the AI shenanigans and degradation of features on Windows, I finally got Linux-curious enough. I picked up a cheap mini PC yesterday, wiped Win 11, and replaced it with Mint Linux and Wine. I haven't installed any VSTs yet, but the Windows version of Reaper likes it just fine.

After over a year of job searching and being unsuccessful, I desperately need help, or my family will be homeless. 😭 Whether you can donate, hire me/have any job leads, or can share this with those who can, I'd be so grateful. Thank you 🖤 spot.fund/74zc9nssc

Was working on a new song last night. Matilda wanted to sit in my lap, but she insisted on 'helping' with keyboards. After removing her from my lap, she hopped up onto my exercise bike and spent the rest of the night judging me.

A tortie cat, sitting on a bunched up hoodie that's on top of an exercise bike. She's staring at the camera with a blank expression of contempt.

The new Bow Ever Down EP has been mixed and mastered. Kimberly will announce the release date, but suffice it to say, it will be soon!

If true, it'll finally be time to pull all F8 content off of Spotify. Something I should have done a long time ago.

Arturia: wouldn't it be cool to make music like this? me: no, I have cats.

Arturia promotional ad. A musician sits on the edge of a couch cushion, playing a 49-key synth, connected to a modular synth with a bright light glowing from below. The modular synth is connected to a couple of pedals or effects. A spaghetti-like tangle of phone cables spills over the modular synth, plugging into the back of the 49-key. A laptop sits above on a small table.

Bummer. I just read that Maggie Estep passed away. It was 11 years ago, so not recent in the least. For me, this is the best thing that came from a member of Depeche Mode, post-Songs of Routine and Promotion.

Ultimately, Don's greatest political innovation has been to demonstrate that you don't need to give the people bread if you can make the circus big enough.

Our sister project, Bow Ever Down, has a great new release out. It's a bit different and not the sort of thing you'll hear at the clubs. A voice, a piano, and very little else. Kimberly has an incredible voice. boweverdown.bandcamp.com/album/unveiled

I've been programming my own takes on classic retro games as a way of dealing with post-election/pre-fascist regime dread. Even a game as simple as Breakout has a lot of nuance when it comes to setting up "fun" angles. I have new respect for the dev.
