Long response sorry. I also never used any camera tracking features outside of Blender, around December 2025 I used Blender with pretty good success with object tracking and no idea what I was doing. superhivemarket.com/products/cam... So far it's been fun for just doing random vfx but I feel like I'd want to use the standard tracking features from Blender if it was a more serious project. To answer your question, I don't know that Blender has gotten better. Probably not much if at all.

I should have mentioned it in the post. I'm using the addon from CGMatter called Camera tracker which I picked up the other day. It essentially removes the need for manual tracking however it's limited in the ability to fix the track. There are settings to retrack and attempt to fix issues.

Or maybe a noise texture or some sort of procedural water texture in the shader into the normal/bump to bend the light similar to how ocean surface does, could plug it into the object displacement as well to make a makeshift surface, that'd give you a bit more control and may work better.

I was thinking about this, a few ideas come to mind. Could potentially use a light path node, camera ray into mix shader, and transparent node to hide the water to the camera but the caustics would still be visible, could then have a separate water object for the surface.

1gb storage limit is the only thing that comes to mind. my gmail achieve wasn't over that as I only keep important emails and most of it doesn't have attachments but a friend of mine was over the limit right away from his gmail.

I changed my password from another device and that kicked them out, I'm going to assume whatever I had installed included a keylogger so be aware of that because they only wanted to my email and now are spamming password reset emails lol

They gained access to my account, and started spamming a friend I was most recently talking to telling them to tell me to change my email password, I'm going to assume they installed some sort of keylogger on my PC and only had access to Discord from a session token/cookir

On the compositing page, the new asset shelf that's enabled by default lags hard after I added the compositing pack, might be too many or a bug, If I open another view and make it the asset library I can browse it just fine without lag

Oh this looks good, looks like it might be better than what I've been using for the VHS. Thank you, Merry Christmas to you as well. I had bigger plans for this but learning motion tracking, masking and trying to get the Ray Portal shader to work has been a bit much. Found a very useful asset someone made for the Ray Portal setup that helped a lot at least. I may make a variation soon.

After adding the preset pack to my asset libraries, the asset shelf in the compositor window of Blender was lagging really bad, I had to go to the view menu, uncheck asset shelf and open a new panel for the asset library and that worked fine.

Yes it's compositor, I didn't make it myself. It's from the MP_Comp presets pack by Momo moportfolio.gumroad.com/l/mp_comp 3.0 works with Blender 5.0 or above which is what I'm using. Has some really nice VHS/CRT and TV effects with lots of controls.

Will there be CAD files for the Steam Frame? I'm missing digits on both hands, I have access to a 3D printer and wanted to see if the Controllers are a good fit for my hands or potentially work on something to assist in holding them, I'd be upgrading from a OG HTC Vive and Wands, thanks.
