The actual hero was the Indian pilot named Smit Machachhar who fought the co-pilot with knife and was bleeding on the floor. He still had enough situational awareness to pull the latch to unlock cockpit door. This has been reported everywhere else internationally.

If everyone became vegetarian, the land use will fall from 4 billion hectares to 1 billion hectares. The land use of livestock is very large because it takes 50 to 100 times as much land to produce a kilocalorie of beef or lamb compared to plant based alternatives.
