Check out my other new painting, “Wrapped Around Her Royal Finger,” finished just in time for Dragon Con! This one is a 12” x 16” watercolor & ink painting. The idea actually came from our dog, Skye. We have her wrapped around our finger but the truth is, she has us wrapped around her paw, too! 😂

Who doesn’t like dragons and wizards? This is one of the two new paintings I did this month to bring with me to Dragon Con this week. This is “ A Quiet Spell” 12”x16” watercolor & ink. We all have our quiet moments, when we just wanna cuddle up with a good book and hang out with our beloved pets.

“Embracing Echoes Of A Distant Dream”. It wis created originally as a commission for a friend as an ink drawing. Her grandmother was a Japanese immigrant who grew up in Japan during World War II and would talk about watching the military planes flying overhead. Afterwards I gave it a life in color.

My latest piece, “The Soft Side of the Dark Throne.” Offers a rare glimpse behind the curtain of darkness. It explores how the dark lord Sauron, copes with the immense weight of power and pressure—not through conquest, but by retreating into quiet moments of solace with his beloved pets.

Work in progress. Doing this on hot press watercolor paper rather than my usual cold press. It’s a different animal in how it handles the paint in the way I work but I like how you can push the paint around differently than on cold press. Stay tuned. 😊🤙 #wip #dragon #fantasyart #ink #watercolor

As a kid, I lived in Japan for a few years, an experience filled with unforgettable memories. One that stands out is capturing Japanese stag beetles and pitting them against each other in battle. I captured that memory by bringing it to life through a pair of combatting goblin knights.

“To Heaven From Hell” watercolor & ink circa 2022. I created this for the online art group show Wowxwow “Fiends Of The Dark III”. It sold the day before the show actually opened to the public. It was also juried into the fantasy awards book Infected By Art. #fantasyart #ravens #darkart

My first piece of art in 2023 “Wings Of A New Dawn” pen & ink. This was also the first one after having major surgery where 18 inches of my intestines were taken out. Sadly the original was lost during Hurricane Helene in Asheville along with many other works of art and merchandise of mine.

My entire gallery space at The Marquee art gallery in the River Arts District was washed away during hurricane Helene. One of the original pieces destroyed in the hurricane is this one “God Starts All Over And Tries Again” 2023. I guess Helene got to it before it could find its forever home.

My first post on Bluesky, here we go.... “Then Came The Last Days” watercolor & ink 2024. This piece was completed, scanned, color corrected and TITLED a week before hurricane Helene hit. How weirdly serendipitous is that right?!
