@patricknessbooks.bsky.social one of out finest writers triumphs again. His new instalment in the stunning Chaos Walking series, is another masterpiece. It is a gripping, moving, thoughtful, hugely imaginative and ultimately devastating book.

Although rather more conventional than his first two brilliantly imaginative novels, this cleverly told courtroom murder mystery from @guusvalk.bsky.social is compelling and hugely entertaining.

This seemed to start rather slowly, but by a third of the way it picked up and from halfway was compulsive. (By which time the early investment paid off enormously.) Strongly recommend. Keep going. Thanks @philipgraybooks.bsky.social

The stories in Missing Pages, now available in print, are far more that gap-fillers for ML completists. Multi-layered and thought-provoking; a wonderful adjunct to his Library. They explore the metaphysics of books, travelling deep within and far beyond their words. @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social

Another thought. If he likes historical novels , this untypical YA title from the Dragonflight author is nevertheless a very fine book about the ‘real’ (?) King Arthur. Quite old now though so I wonder if available.

Dark and challenging, but hugely rewarding. A stunning volume too.

Not really cosy crime but not noir either. This from @denzilmeyrick.bsky.social was a hugely enjoyable quick read with an entertainingly human lead character. Funny but engaging too. I hope my wife took the hint and is getting me his new one for Christmas.

Not generally a fan of short stories. But I bought a second one today. The writing of @adammacqueen.bsky.social is wonderful at any length.

Just arrived. As I have a full hardback collection of all @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social brilliant books to date, there was no way I wanted to be without this one, although a special edition from one of our fine independent publishers would be hugely desirable.
