Someone take that hammer away from them, they’re gonna hurt themselves
City have furiously rejected the conclusion and suggestion that Etihad did not wholly fund the sponsorship, claiming that the CFCB’s two “chambers” were biased, “flawed,” had prejudged the outcome and had ignored “irrefutable evidence”.

Immensely proud of the whole Ødegaard family
From a 2016 Der Spiegel article:

One sentence stands out in the mountain of data full of greed and megalomania. It was written by Hans Erik Odegaard of Norway in December 2015, after Real Madrid signed his 16-year-old son to the team, hailing him as one of Europe's most talented players. Spanish lawyers had calculated the effect a tax-saving image rights company might have on the player's revenues.

But Odegaard's father had some concerns and wrote: "He will anyway earn a lot of money, so it's also a moral question about how much effort he shall do, trying to save some tax money when other people are struggling much more to pay their bills." The Football Leaks data contains several million documents, and it takes a lot of searching to find one like that.

Martin Odegaard also isn't so easy to find these days. He currently plays mostly on Real's reserve team and has only played for the main team twice. He is reportedly unhappy in Madrid.

I maintain that Arsenal need more French players. We should be every French kid‘s dream PL club. We need this pipeline because it’s one of the best in the world.

Fabregas seems to be among the few ex Arsenal players who didn’t publicly congratulate us on winning the league. I’d say the relationship is irreparably broken unfortunately. This however is v funny. I wonder where he’s learned to field No 10s all over the field!
Fabregas had never coached until he began taking sessions with
Como's hastily thrown together Primavera, the Under-19s. "They gave
me a group of lads. I couldn't sign anyone," he remembers. "We had
three defenders, seven midfielders and 11 strikers or something like
this. I had to invent. I was playing with two No 10s as full-backs."

I wasn’t aware this particular sub story started at Selhurst Park. A truly transformative game.
It’s a full circle moment for Arsenal too. Their pursuit of the Premier League title arguably began on this ground, almost four years ago. On the opening night of the 2022-23 campaign, Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park.

Gabriel Jesus made his debut after signing from Manchester City, the striker who Mikel Arteta argued “changed our world”. The Brazilian striker started as captain on Sunday, in what could be his final appearance for the club.

That Friday night in 2022 was the first competitive game in which Arteta deployed a true inverted full-back, with Oleksandr Zinchenko starting at left-back. There was another Premier League debut for William Saliba, finally recalled into the first-team squad after three loan spells. This was the first league game for the partnership of Saliba and Gabriel. That defensive pairing would become the foundation upon which Arsenal’s success has been built.

That 2-0 win marked the start of four successive attempts to win the Premier League. Back at Selhurst Park, 11 miles or so from the Woolwich armament factor where the club was first formed, Arsenal completed their odyssey back to the summit of English football

There have been so many sub stories and journeys we barely know about. These people have known each other for years and have been working together towards this title for what must’ve been be ages for them.
While the first team changed from the third kit into the traditional red and white, Arteta’s staff donned shirts worn by the players. Assistant coach HIGHLIGHTED Albert Stuivenberg wore Jurrien Timber’s No 12 END HIGHLIGHTED; lead physical performance coach Sam Wilson wore Riccardo Calafiori’s number 33. Even the club doctor, Zafar Iqbal, wore Martin Odegaard’s number 8.

I have no time, right now, for anything but joy. The period unfolding ahead of us could be the greatest in the club’s history. If it starts with beating Manchester City in a final, I believe, strongly, it will snowball into something extraordinary: this team is bred to win and they’ll have a taste for it then, and the last hurdle will be overcome, the ancient enemy destroyed. From there, anything is possible. Anything. So yes, actually, I believe the Mickey Mouse Cup is pretty fucking important, and pretending to ‘not care’ is just thinly veiled cowardice. We’re all going to be scared a lot in the coming months. We must not forget, when the tremors start, the context of what we’re watching. One of the greatest sides in our club’s history is about to embark on a campaign to win it all. It simply does not get any better than this. Joy; Kai Havertz pointing to the badge as his teammates charge him into the barrier; Arteta wheeling and grabbing whoever he can find, which just happens to be Gabriel Jesus; a bonfire of passion in the freezing rain. I have no time for anything but joy. Let fear be the thing our opponents feel.

lmao this is great
I say all this not for the sake of Liam Rosenior, who I hope has a truly awful time as the nightmare club falls apart around him. I say it to venerate my team, and to plead, please, can we all fucking open our eyes. Look at how our opponents treat us. Look at how they come here, the fear with which they move; to play football at Emirates Stadium is to accept a smacked bottom and an early bedtime. Oh, how we wish they’d come and give us a go, so we could play them off the park, but they won’t, because that is not how you beat Arsenal; you beat Arsenal on your knees, with your hands clasped tight in a desperate prayer.

But it’s telling that within 6 years they were able to grow Deel to have annual revenue of roughly $1 billion, but didn’t think it was necessary to hire a GENERAL COUNSEL until recently?!
On June 3, 2025, Deel surpassed a $1 billion annual run rate in Q1, with 75% year-over-year revenue growth from April
2024 to April 2025.''' In 2024, Deel was named to CNBC's Disruptor 50, and in September 2025, Deel was named in the
top 10 of the Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List. [63][64]
In October 2025, Deel raised a US $300 million Series E funding round co-led by Ribbit Capital and Andreessen Horowitz,
bringing its valuation to approximately US $17.3 billion. 65]
In November 2025, Deel appointed former Intuit executive Joe Kauffman as President and Chief Financial Officer,
signalling the company's intent to prepare for an initial public offering. 66] Also during 2025, Deel appointed a chief risk
officer, chief compliance officer, and general counsel. [67]

Here’s how Politico reported Deel‘s reaction to repeated run ins with policymakers and regulators last year. www.politico.com/newsletters/politi…
FIRST IN PI — CHAO, HEITKAMP ADVISING HR STARTUP: HR and
payroll fintech Deel has tapped several Washington power players for the
startup's first advisory board as the company beefs up its presence in D.C.
 — The advisory board features Elaine Chao, the former Transportation and
Labor secretary who's also married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch
McConnell; former Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.); former acting Labor
Secretary Seth Harris; and Charlotte Corley, the former banking and
 consumer finance commissioner for Mississippi.
 — Deel's platform exploded in popularity during the pandemic, but its rise
ran into trouble in Washington, where last year a group of House
Democrats urged the Labor Department to investigate whether Deel had
been intentionally misclassifying employees as contractors, allegations it
denied. Deel hired its first lobbyists last summer and has dropped $280,000
on federal advocacy since then as it looked to win over lawmakers. A
spokesperson for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who led the letter calling for
an investigation into Deel, told Forbes that his concerns had been alleviated
 after meeting with the company.
 — "An industry first in HR tech, the Advisory Board will help Deel excel in
an increasingly complex labor and regulatory environment, implement
those learnings into our products and partnerships, and help build
awareness for our compliance reputation within the HR ecosystem," Nick
Catino, Deel's global head of public policy, wrote in a draft blog post shared
with PI, arguing the company "can't achieve our ambitions unless we work
closely with the policymakers and regulators who shape employment
 policy."

Reporting the whole chain of command for posterity and throwing in a „rubber-stamped“ for good measure 😂 www.nytimes.com/athletic/6884102/20…
The deal has been brokered by Darren Dein, the son of Arsenal's former co-owner and vice-chairman David Dein, who previously negotiated the stadium naming rights and front of shirt sponsorship with Emirates.

The agreement was led by Arsenal's chief commercial officer Juliet Slot and her team, before being rubber-stamped by Stan Kroenke.

This is the guy they’ve hired to go after Deel 😂
Rippling is playing hardball. Its lead lawyer on the lawsuit is Alex
Spiro of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, known for
representing Elon Musk, Jay-Z and Mayor Eric Adams of New
 York City.
100
feveritch @feveritch.bsky.social · 12/12/2025
These are serious allegations, and I have to assume that Rippling, a company currently valued at $16 billion, is confident to prove them in court, in the US and Ireland as well. We‘ll find out soon enough. www.inc.com/jennifer-conrad/deel-le…
Rippling suspected that someone was leaking proprietary information, so its
IT team set up a "honeypot" trap involving a fake Slack channel that led
them to O'Brien. In his court statement, O'Brien said that when he was
 caught, someone at Deel instructed him to destroy his cell phone (he did;
with an axe) and suggested he flee to Dubai. Instead, he began cooperating
 with Rippling's lawyers.
Rippling is currently suing Deel in the Northern District of California for
alleged theft of trade secrets and in Ireland for the related coverup. Deel has
not publicly commented on the allegations of corporate espionage. It has,
however, filed a countersuit in Delaware accusing Rippling of, among other
things, impersonating a client to steal trade secrets, helping companies
evade sanctions on Russia, and using "heavy-handed tactics to terrorize"
O'Brien when he tried to report those sanctions violations.

feveritch @feveritch.bsky.social · 12/12/2025
At the very least, they’re involved in a bitter court fight with their closest competitor, Rippling. Here’s the gist: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/17/business…
Spy accusations inflame an H.R. rivalry

One of the most bitter rivalries in the world of H.R. service providers just took a turn that wouldn’t be out of place in a spy thriller.

Rippling on Monday sued Deel, accusing its competitor of hiring a mole in its Dublin office to comb through Rippling’s trade secrets, a scheme that reached its rival’s highest ranks, DealBook’s Michael de la Merced reports. Rippling said it had uncovered the defector through a “honeypot” trap — a Slack channel set up specifically for the ruse that was mentioned in a letter to top Deel executives.
