#LGBTQWriteAThon 2 Ephemeral (title pending) is a mm slow burn romantasy with an accidental proposal, fake engagement, angst, yearning and eventual spice between a false intermediary of the gods and the heir presumptive of an Empire. This duology explores themes of revenge, grief, family & love 📚💙

Indie authors who got their physical books from amazon, were they also printed in poor quality? Mine came with the edges damaged, weird marks on the cover, the binding literally breaking, and marks on the pages that literally should not be there. #indieauthor #authorsky #selfpublishing

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 31 My bookish August wrap-up: I set a goal to finish one of my books, and I ended up finishing two 🥳 I started the latter's sequel and with edits. I only read 3 books this month (oops) because I was tried and busy and reckoning with life's horrors (as one does)

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 30 I like both, it depends on the day and my mood tbh. I'm a slow reader, so I do gravitate towards standalone more often than series, but some of my favourite books have been the 2nd or 3rd books in series tho so I really don't have too much of a preference

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 21 I choose character names after I've already established a baseline of who the character is and what their story is gonna be. By then, the right name just pops out to me while I'm doomscrolling or on baby name websites. It's more intuitive than you'd think lmao +

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 20 One of the superstitions that play a large role in my WIP is that desecrating the face of someone (in paintings or statues, etc) will lead to a curse being placed upon you even if that someone still lives. This is doubly worse if you destroy their eyes

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 19 An author tip that really helped me was reading my book out loud in a different format to catch clunky sentences and whatnot. Also leaving my books to marinate when I'm stuck or finished with a draft helps A LOT, don't underestimate the effectiveness of distance

#fantasyindiesaugust Day 11 My fmc, Joohyun, doesn't know when her birthday is, but she would go to a tavern, get drunk, and listen to the band's ballads. She'd then return to the rest of the ne'er-do-wells, who didn't go with her to the tavern, and drunkenly sing to them until she passes put 🙂‍↕️
