Back on Friday my bestie and I went to the Sideling Hill tunnel on the abandoned PA turnpike, which is one of my absolute favorite places and did a post apocalyptic photo shoot in my Ripley partial. What a blast!

It's a wonderful day in Northeast Ohio...

An aerial view of a very smokey countryside.

After spending the last year and a half in the garage all torn apart, the Goldwing is finally done. I think I'm gonna call her "Violet Tendencies."

Been rushing to get my fursuit done before FE. Head is almost done but that's all I got. :/ Here she is right after applying "Unicorn Spit" stain last night to hopefully give her fur some shimmer. Hopefully I can get a partial made up in the next few days. #fursuit #gryphon

I don't think I ever posted this here. A nearly done WIP of a head for the lovely @yksteldus.bsky.social Still needs the neck, and some finishing touches, like a little more more trimming done. #fursuit #gryphon

The western PA meshtastic group sent up a weather balloon with a node on it last week and I actually picked it up here in Ohio! I might have to try to join their group, cause I've got a ton of Pittsburgh nodes popping up on my list.

So I took a chance and bought a tent for a pickup with a 5 foot bed, hoping it would fit in the 4.5ft bed of a Maverick. It'd be a perfect fit if I didn't have the chase rack behind the cab. It's good enough though! I've always wanted one of these types of tents.

Decided to give meshtastic a try. Printed up a nifty case I found on Thingiverse and got it all wired up. Sadly it's bedtime, so flashing and setting up the node will have to wait until after work tomorrow. Can't wait to try it out!

So last year I traded my supermoto for a 99 Honda Gold Wing. The bike basically sat in a barn for the last 10 or so years. It has a few things that need repaired, so I decided to tear it down and give it a good thorough cleaning and inspection. She's dirty!

View from the dash looking back to the rear of the bike, of a downright filthy 99 Honda Gold Wing, missing it's saddlebags, seat, and with the trunk partially disassembled.

Started work on the Gold Wing. First order of business was replace the broken trunk restraint cables with straps I made by cutting a 1 inch nylon strap down the middle and sewing it to mini d-rings. Hopefully these will be more durable.

A very thin steel cable which is broke in two, next to a nylon strap attached to d-rings.

The nylon strap stretched tightly with its 2 d-rings screwed into metal brackets.

Got 4 different Icterids at mom's feeder tonight. That Oriole was incredibly elusive.

Broke out my old Canon powershot to see how it is at getting bird pics. 20x zoom is nice as long as I'm like, directly under the birds.

In a loaner truck today because mine is in the shop and this is driving me absolutely nuts!!

Having a plain white truck is fun, since they're generally used as fleet vehicles... With a vinyl cutter, I can dress my truck up like it's from any fictional facility my beardy little heart desires.

It's a busy afternoon at the feeders. Considering setting this camera up as a live stream.

Ah, my updated tome of knowledge has arrived! In a world of GPS and smart phones, I still feel better with a physical map for planning or as a backup, and my old one is almost old enough to vote. Seriously, if you want the most informative road atlas you can get, snag a trucker's atlas.

Finally about done with my homemade powerbank. Just have to install the fan and barrel jack. Plan on using this to power some 12v work lights, charge my laptop on trips, etc. As a bonus, I can also use it to boost my ecoflow power station's charge another 40% in an emergency.

MY CHARIOT AWAITS!!! GRYPHON AMBULANCE! So I've been shopping for an ambulance for... reasons. God I wish I had a way to get it home, cause I'd be heading up to Wisconsin to get the gryph ambulance right now! (I also love Sprecher's root beer.) Transmission is bad, so I'd need a flatbed. :(

There were a lot of things in there I'd never even heard of, so I think it skewed me more to the center than I really am.

Last night & the first part of today were an adventure. Came across a bunch of ducklings that had been hit by a car and discovered one of them was unharmed but in shock. Took it home and kept it warm for the night. After a lot of searching found a bird sanctuary & took the little guy there today.
