I mean, it is a pretty dope/timeless logo hahaha That's super cool, Scott!

I think It needs to be slightly multiverse to connect with Secreto Wars but honestly In hoping for the same :( I hope It's mostly street.

I shall too! It's very likely it's merely a reference to Peter having to restart his life after the spell, not an actual comic adaptation. None of the movies have been based on a single cómic storyline anyhow.

Fully agree. The internet tends to always blow up and clutch pearls about the smallest things. Comparing it to the Sonic situation is extremely ridiculous. They're not remotely the same thing. Im also more concerned about the story. Teenager vs Dad drama is always hit and miss.

Different mediums, they aren't comparable in the slightest. Both are amazing in their respective formats. (Feature vs TV) The writing in the show is top notch, animation is subjective and matter of taste but it fits the style & narrative for me. You can tell the people who wrote it love Spider-man.

I just wanted to draw them, okay?? 😤 #spiderman #marvel

The Spider-Men (Peter Parker and Miles Morales) staring down at you into your soul.

191414345

(would you feel comfortable with me DM'ing you? I find the conversation fascinating but I don't know if I'm bloating your post hahaha)

references to comics but not outright copying them, cuz a lot of material, sadly, isn't that great. (And even comics fans rail on them, unless it comes to shows and movies, then they're stark defenders of the comics hahahaa)I feel like there's good ideas in comics but execution is not always great.

But I did realize that since I came in late, I just couldn't look at these "fandom staples" with starry eyes and I gotta admit, even to this day, I still dont know what people see on some of these runs. Some are pretty decent, but most were not great for me. That's why Im okay with new stuff doing

But I found that whatever others said was the shit (including my own hubby, who used to be a comic reader, not anymore LOL) I was like "you guys really liked this??" Cuz I frankly didn't find it good at all LOL. But I acknowledge its a product of its time, and respect the impact it had on people.

Oh, absolutely. Anyone who uses "normies" non-ironically I instantly side-eye LOL We all hyperfixate on something, regardless of what it is. I got into Marvel very late into the game, so I don't have that same sense of nostalgia a lot of people seem to have. I did look up "best runs of x character"

Damn definitely interested cuz I've certainly felt a collapse but I thought it was my own perception and maybe I just wasnt "with the times" anymore. Will give it a read!

080

Precisely! I'm a very casual comic reader, I don't really read stuff anymore because comics have really seen better days. lol But i find it so funny those same fans shit on their blessed comics, but then complain when shows/series are... not like the comics? Make it make sense lol

I would be considered a sinner in those circles cuz I tend to gravitate towards the stuff other hardcore fans don't like LOL but because they're fresh and provide new angles that make the character feel familiar but fresh and I'm sooooo into that stuff. (Again though, it depends on the writing)

It's the same trusty, but rusty old car with a fresh coat of paint, but it's still an old and outdated car and there's so many rides you can give it before the poor thing starts falling apart. That said, I do think some adaptations are better than others, and it largely depends on the writing skill.

Precisely! I love new productions harking back to the source material or dropping easter eggs or lines reminiscent of its past, but in no way do I want a cookie cutter copy of how it was done before. What's the point if I already know how EVERYTHING happens?

120

Myself, I'm very open to new ideas and adaptations. I love the source materials, but it eventually gets to the point that rehashing the same old origin story over and over gets super stale (and super predictable and boring ...) so I always welcome twists if they are really well written/organic.

I remember they tried it with Miles and it was such a huge backlash they had to revive Peter and give Miles his own universe lol. Superhero fandom is especially gatekeepy and nostalgia based so whoever tried would definitely face a lot of resistance (and some factions would never accept it).

📌 Pinning this cuz at this moment I don't have the mental bandwidth to understand how it works or how I can get it to work but it looks amazing and I definitely wanna try it out!

The premise sounds so much like my cup of tea, IM SO STOKEDDDD

Still reeling from that whole sequence goddamn
