At present, liberals make up the vast majority of the academy and, due to their overrepresentation, a considerable number will need to be relieved of their duties. Since standardized tests and measures have been recently discovered to be racist, sexist, and classist, we will make these decisions by putting every liberal professor’s name into ChatGPT and commanding it to randomly select liberal professors in exact proportion to their percentage of the general population. Then we will know how many conservative professors we will need to hire to be diverse, equitable, and inclusive

I saw the horrific video of the extrajudicial killing in the Caribbean just as I was reading this bit about a Philadelphia asphalt mafia's White House-backed assault against Venezuela in 1902 (from Greg Grandin's excellent new book "America, América"):

“So when Venezuela’s president Cipriano Castro refused to settle the dispute on the Asphalt Trust’s behalf, it was nothing for Mack to get the White House to send three battleships to cruise Venezuela’s coast in a show of support.
That was just a start. Mack and his allies then financed a Venezuelan banker and Castro rival, Manuel Antonio Matos, to launch a revolution against Castro. They paid to outfit a steamer, the Ban Righ, renamed Libertador, as a gunboat, and gave Matos another $140,000 in supplies and weapons, drawn from a Trust account earmarked for “government relations.” Castro survived the revolt, though the uprising led to the deaths of thousands of Venezuelans and the destruction of much public infrastructure, including roads and ports.”

Looks like Bogotá's first Metro line (under construction) is now a global security issue

The U.S. will strongly oppose recent projects and upcoming disbursements by the@the_IDB and other IFls for Chinese state-owned and controlled companies in Colombia (and other BRI countries in the region). These projects endanger the region's safety and security.
American tax dollars SHOULD NOT be used in any way by international organizations to subsidize Chinese companies in our hemisphere.
