There's a little documentary on Netflix released in 2024 that follows his 2022 tour and he's constantly hilarious in it. Glad more people are discovering this side to him.

It's an amazing lack of critical reasoning to take wholesale the rebuttal that has been expensively paid and sourced on the behalf of a wealthy man (who is also the son of a prominent religion's leaders that is well known for manipulating and burying stories through legal action).

GFC and the collapse of print media really did a number. I remember looking at the circulation numbers of PCG UK in 2006 (roughly 100k) to when I joined 2009/2010 time and it was down to 16-18k. And that was considered a *healthy* amount to have retained.

I'm shocked finding out how much it is to maintain a mini in the US. In the UK my partner bought a 2012 Cooper D for under 3000 dollars, no issues apart from a melted rear light but the parts are plentiful (only 40 dollars for a replacement).

In July 2009 this little guy wandered out of some bushes at a friend's BBQ. Unexpected for teenage lads but we all fed him and made sure he was alright. He never left. Pleased to report near 18 years on he (Theo) is still living with my friend, got a chance to see him again yesterday.

A decade ago I went on a few dates with someone who was 28 and was exasperated by her 68 year old widower dad (with bad psoriasis) that was complaining of no dates himself. He had his dating profile exclusively looking at 21-25 year olds and moaned on he couldn't help who he was attracted to.

I probably go overboard in muting generic terms but it's helped my anxiety surges. As for people (especially strangers) getting too personal/judgemental I have no good fix for that. Overall the funny quips, interesting facts and pictures (especially old bangers!) I see here keep me coming back.

Went off them before they even started the react series about 6-7 years ago, when they made multiple videos with the vetbro Black Rifle Coffee guys. Stuff like a video where you have multiple white guys in Arabic dress playing suicide bombers, joking about in the BTS over being called Mohammed etc.

Based on my own interactions with the under-35s, I think they're telling on themselves by actually knowing what Bluesky even is.

Watching it I kept being hit with dual thoughts of "This is amazing" and "It's a shame this leads into Rogue One and not its own thing".

Totally. I'd go as far to say that even though I still enjoyed them on that recent reread, the Rincewind series feel the weakest and most out of step with the rest of the Discworld. It's surprising to me that The Last Continent was written just after Jingo for how rough and random it feels.

Nanny Ogg turning up in Thief of Time doesn't mean you need to have read the 6 Witches series novels to not be taken out of the action when they have an extended scene. It takes a great writer to make it accessible in a silo whilst also not boring those with previous knowledge when reintroducing.

Having reread all the Discworld series this past year; in comparison to, well, whatever this is, Pratchett did a sterling job of interweave. Any novel could be someone's first Discworld read, characters are expertly introduced in a way that's fun for the knowledgeable but accessible to the newcomer.

I hate having to think about medications in terms of "what way will this help the immediate" vs "how much and for how long will this fuck my gut up". Had a week of antibiotics two months ago and only just now feeling my moods/energy/sickness is back to where it should be.

Went in expecting to relate but that was a degree beyond me. What threw me afterwards for mine was hearing the crinkle of clothes again, and that sound having so much texture. I've stopped swimming or putting my ears underwater during a bath/shower and it's less frequent but still happens.

Thank you on behalf of late thirty somethings. A few months ago looking up the ages of the same figures who made iconic 90s games made me creak. Such as Martin Hollis being only 26 when he was the director of Goldeneye 64. Same age as Romero for Doom's release.

I'm a sucker for it as I have my soft spot for time travel and semi-tragic semi-hopeful romance stories. Genuinely never considered how it might make trans people feel or even discover themselves reacting to the waking up in a different body parts.

Chicken update: they slept on the roof of their house last night and as a result the roof fell off. They don't care because they're chickens and all of life's worries disappear when mealworm appears.

My memories of GCSE IT was they pretty much wanted to create good little office workers, so it was all about using Word and Excel. For two years. I actually learned more in my primary school classes from elearning games (thank you Crystal Rainforest) about how computers actually worked.

There's a bunch of folk I got to know well during 2020 as we all chatted animals, plants and life in a big whatsapp group. It just stopped one day as everyone's lives got busy (mine included!). Online friendships can be like that. But I'm so glad for everyone I got to know during that time.

It is expensive, the most expensive component on our boards, but so far the best way to maintain accuracy during flight (but am open to things changing!). Experiments with IR & cameras they're more prone to errors when dealing with several hundred flying at 25m/s with half meter spacing in a show.

Ed Fenn @fennit.bsky.social · 26/07/2026
That sounds like a lot of effort when a heavy stone at the RTK on the ground or an inexpensive signal jammer will achieve similar.
020
Ed Fenn @fennit.bsky.social · 26/07/2026
Typically the RTK will be set up at the ground control station and fed to the drones over wifi & telemetry. The drones will have a GPS module on them as well as accelerometer and compass. There are no external sensors like IR or cameras because they're pretty much not needed as an expense!

It's consistently made me feel weird seeing him in things thinking how he happily agreed to play Toby Young in an adaptation of the latter's book. Agreeing to star in the Rowling game too. Ontop of that outside of Shaun & Hot Fuzz he's consistently taken me out of any media he crops up in.

I got a job with a longer commute and wanted to update my cover with the increased yearly mileage (from 3000 to 15,000) at renewal. It was cheaper to go through a comparison website and buy again with the *same company* than it was to change and renew an existing policy.

If you want to know how stupid RAM prices have become back in late September I ordered some. £115 for 32gb. That same set now costs £521 in July. That's a 350% increase.

Was this one that was straight for TV or did it start as a radio sketch first? At least with radio sketches I've not seen people nick them as often to promote their mediocre social media slop pages.

Some of those conversations were embarrassing on my part over what I'd submitted, and I'm glad it happened out of the public eye. Having peers chop it to pieces on social media platforms sounds the worst thing as a solution both for the writers dignity and the writer's (perceived) credibility.

I got so much value out of sub-editors/deputy-editors at the start of my career who actually had the time to read submitted pieces and work on it with you. Editors were too busy dancing on the firepit of emails, business decisions & fighting against higher up influences on copy.

So many Nintendo games I didn't own but would read the guides to in gaming magazines. I don't know how to describe it but seeing that there was a kid in a completely different language also having that same excited reaction to a gaming guide in their own magazine is a lovely connection point to me.

Maru sadly! I feel with them it might be one of those things of, processing their grief in a public way which I can sympathise with. But it's not something that I feel comfortable in seeing or supporting. Maybe they're past doing it now but it made me nervous that it would creep in again.

A Japanese cat channel I was subbed to since 2008 had the main cat pass away last year, then they started uploading AI videos & images of the cat being dressed up in outfits, interacting with their remaining cats etc. Was sad hitting unsubscribe after 18 years.
